I got three quotes from recommended and well-established foundation reconstruction firms. They all did an onsite assessment and submitted proposals. I hired a civil engineer to evaluate those proposals for me, after he also inspected my home himself. He recommended Shay Aboav and Doheny concrete Construction above the others, and he also interviewed Mr. Aboav to doublecheck on details of the proposal. DOHENY'S PROPOSAL WAS SUBSTANTIALLY LESS MONEY THAN THE OTHER TWO. The work was completed on schedule, documented fully, and executed very nicely. It seemed quite complex to me. Cleanup was prompt and thorough. Customer service, outstanding.

Shay and were amazing!! Best contractor experience. I paid for a very pricey garage conversion with another contractor/builder BECAUSE the old, original structure was taking in water... only to discover leaking the minute the rains begin 2023. The water warped the floors and caused mold. Shay walked the job site, diagnosed the problem and solved it with a concrete surround that is deep enough, wide enough and slightly graded to guarantee the water has no entry point anywhere on the perimeter of the building. The concrete work was expertly constructed, poured and leveled. It looks so good that I'm sorry I already planned to cover it with tile! After completing the water mitigation, I also asked them to increase my stucco wall height so I could finally level the awkwardly sloped front yard, and I'm so glad I did! The wall looks like it's always been that high and the front yard is finally functional and inviting. I will be recommending Shay to ALL my friends and don't think there's a better choice in the business.

Shay is very knowledgeable about foundations and working with concrete. He went out of his way to educate me about several issues I needed to address and then he executed the work in a timely manner. He and his team are very professional. From what I can tell, the work done by Doheny Concrete is first class and I can easily recommend Shay for foundation and concrete related work. (work completed: created a crawl space access system, repaired and replaced several pier/post structures under the house)

Shay is the best. He is very knowledgeable about concrete and foundations. Very customer service oriented. He comes up with creative solutions for problems that people have. Heâ s also very honest and doesnâ t try to convince you to get something done that doesnâ t really need to be done. I had water intrusion in my front room that faces the front planter. He dug up all the plants in the planter, but saved the palm trees. He waterproofed the walls and then placed sloped concrete in the planter and holes in the planter wall to drain the water out when it arrived it rained hard. I highly recommend this company.

I have a small 100 yr old raised foundation craftsman bungalow. The raised perimeter foundation was deteriorating and needed repair/replacement. This work was also done in conjunction with earthquake bolting. Shay and his crew were very professional & responsive. Details I requested to the quote were added and there were no surprises. Work area was kept clean and the area was buttoned up each night. I was apprised of the inspections status and deliveries. He saved me tens of thousands of dollars over over bids that wanted to do more and expensive work than was necessary. I highly recommend him.

We loved working with Shay. He and his team were friendly, punctual, and professional. They were very transparent about the whole process. He also didnâ t push us into doing more work than we needed to do. He also went over things we could do to keep the foundation in good shape, like getting rid of some of the trees and had up against our house.
