Write a ReviewDavis was professional and on time .he went over and beyond the job repaired other parts of the fence and stayed with ing the original estimate.I will have more projects for this contractor
A member of Mr. Davis' team replaced some of the old tiles in my bathroom. He was very professional and focused. He created a design that required him to demonstrate a lot of patience and expertise. His work actually transformed the bathroom. During this time of COVID he was careful to keep his distance and always wore a mask. He was neat and used his time wisely. The owner, Mr. Davis, did not hesitate to answer any of my questions and was straight forward with his responses. I was very satisfied with the experience.
I hired Davis and Davis to lay a concrete patio. At first Mr. Davis was nice and took the time to explain the job. He was so nice I also included other services in the contract. I explained I was a first time homeowner with no experience and was nervous about Contractors taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. He assured me he was an honest man of God and that I could trust him. He said he stands by the quality of his work and would return a customers money before he delivered poor service. He sold me a good story, but it was not true and this has been the worse experience by far. The problems with the patio started day one. When his crew came to begin the work, they began to pour concrete on the grass. I stopped them and asked if were customary to prep the area by removing the grass and leveling the soil? Mr. Davis assured me that pouring concrete without clearing the grass was ok, but he would clear the grass if it made me happy. His crew cleared the grass but did not level the soil. They were not able to lay the entire patio in one day so they stopped half way through and returned two days later. Mr. Davis picked up the final payment saying the guy had some finishing touches but the patio was complete. I naively paid him assuming that everything was good. Boy was I wrong. The quality of the work was terrible. I expected a clean finish but the patio is grainy like the concrete was not mixed properly. I told Mr. Davis That I was not happy and wanted to cancel the other services. He got upset and called me challenging even though he had not seen the finished product. After convincing him to come see what my issue was, he came by and told me that was the way it was supposed to look and that after it fully dried it would look better. Instead it looks worse! Its two different colors with a large uneven seam running down the middle. I posted a review here and Mr. Davis said I was weak for posting the review. I sent him pictures and told him that it was an honest review. After he saw the pics he agreed it was terrible and he would fix it. Two days after telling me he would fix the issue, he tells me he does not want to fix it because he doubts I will be happy with his fix and offered to give me some of my money back. He does not want to fix it because he thinks I am picky because I complained about them not clearing the grass. He asked me to tell him how much I wanted back. Since I was not sure the cost to fix it I got quotes from other companies to find out what it would cost and the lowest quote was $2,200. Even though I wanted him to at least cover the cost of repair, i tried to be kind even though he did not deserve it and I only asked Mr. Davis for $1,700 back and he said no. He would only give me $1,500 back. I told him I did not have the money to lose out on $1,000. Told me to do what I had to do as far as taking him to court to get my money back. He knows I am a single mom that can not afford the court fees. He took advantage of me. He knew I did not know anything about concrete so he did a subpar job and tried to bully me into accepting it. Then he tried to scare me into taking the $1,500 after telling me he could offer me nothing and just walk away. And to top it all off, 3 weeks after collecting my money, they never returned to remove the frame or back fill the dirt. Now I have to hire someone to come fix it. The lines in the walkway are sloppy and there is concrete and concrete dust all over my driveway and my house and they just left it. I am very disappointed with the work and my decision to go with Davis and Davis. I think he takes advantage of people and bullies people if he thinks he can get away with it. All he talks about is how he feels. What about his customers? He does not seem to care about their loss time and increased stress. This experience was horrible. Makes me scared to hire any
I am responding the customers review, I offered her $1500.00 dollars which is more than enough. The concrete job concrete was done correctly and the finishing job was not perfect and consumer did not want to accept the offer which was the best that I could do.
Unfortunately, after Mr. Davis agreed to the contract with a $600 deposit (400 sq ft, labor only, for $1,750). Mr. Davis kept rescheduling. Mr. Davis presented an additional $200 receipt for materials but became annoyed when I reviewed the receipt and asked where an item was that was listed. Mr. Davis, after approximately 3 weeks of waiting, walked off the job. Mr. Davis did return my $600 check.
This is her view of what happened. But that's not exactly true. I. Gave her her refund back because of confusion. About the project.
Very professional and on time. They did excellent work.

The job was to remove (and dispose of) debris from re-siding an outbuilding in the back yard. It mostly consisted of broken up decorative brick and Ti-11 siding. For safety's sake I had removed the nails from the siding as I took it down and, for convenience, had cut the 4x8 sheets into more easily carried pieces. The two-man crew was courteous, arrived early, worked efficiently, cleaned the yard, and offered the best price for the work accomplished. One of the workmen apologized for being a little slow because he had donated one of his kidneys to his wife within the past month, and was still recovering. Given that information, I helped out with the movement of the debris to the truck. The crew was vocally appreciative of the help, and since there was no indication of them slacking off, I believe the man was telling the truth and deserved the benefit of the doubt for helping his wife in such a life-saving way. I recommend this crew to others for their needs.
They arrived at the scheduled time and completed the job in a timely fashion.
