We contracted with Curbman to perform ceramic tile demolition. The tile areas weren't tarped off correctly, which spread tile dust throughout the house, along with sharp pieces of tile. Tile dust can cause respiratory issues for anyone, and I have some pre-existing issues, so it's a big problem to have it spread through the house, in the HVAC system, etc. My wife also cut herself on a tile shard, as did a Curbman worker, who ended up going to the emergency room. As we negotiated with Curbman to clean up the dust and shards, the owner became angry and stopped work on the job. He demanded that we pay the remainder of the contracted amount to resume work, which violated the terms of the contract. We chose to take our business elsewhere and requested a refund of unspent funds, which we estimated to be $3000. The owner refused to provide receipts and tried adding costs that hadn't been written into our estimate. He offered us a $40 refund and stopped responding to communication.

Zach was very clean, showed up on time, did excellent work, and after the job was completed we walked the job together to make sure that the job was done to my satisfaction, and it was, I have no complaints.
