Replacing our wood fireplace to a gas fireplace was the best decision we've made. Working with Jay and his team was an absolute pleasure as they were honest, punctual, and professional throughout the entire install process. Fast forward a year later, we just had our gas fireplace serviced. Again, on time, friendly and got the job done very quickly. I would highly recommend Central Jersey Fireplace Company to anyone who is seeking this type of work.

Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace (Gas)

If I could give them no stars, I would. They did not give me what I asked for. They never went over any of the specifications with me. The fireplace is not what I wanted. Plus the door does not fit the face. No eta (estimated time of arrival) when that was going to be completed. They hired a contractor to repair the outside of my chimney, and it is cracking, and they say it is normal.

I am so sorry that you are not happy. We have done everything we could to try to make your difficult installation work. We have scheduled after hours and weekends as to not impede on your work schedule, It is difficult for us to get back after hours all the time to make the custom modifications needed for your particular install. We have gone back to add extra battery back up to take care of your dog is requested at no additional charge. Once again, I'm truly sorry you feel this way but look forward to working with you going forward!

I wish I found this company sooner! I had half-a dozen "experts" coming through my house, rolling their eyes, shaking their heads, giving me all kinds of insane quotes, but not promising to resolve the issue. Jason was very professional, competent, with "can do" attitude, he quickly evaluated the system and went out of his way to accommodate my tight schedule. When Nito came to do the work, he was already familiar with all the relevant details, identified the problem in a very efficient way with the minimal damage to the surrounding structures, went out to get the materials and couple of hours later both my fireplaces were humming. Both he and Mike were very respectful, polite and highly skilled. Highly recommend!

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
