Reviews
Write a ReviewOUTSTANDING!!!! We were looking to finish our basement, but had a tough time deciding on the design/layout. Upon meeting with Brian, we described what we had in mind, but we were open to any suggestions or ideas he might have. Brian was extremely respectful of our ideas, and also made a few suggestions to us, due to the layout of the basement. He came up with a design we never could have thought of, which was simple, yet brilliant! We trusted his ideas, and went with it. Five weeks later, our basement was finished on time and within budget. The result was breathtaking! From the wall cutouts w/dimable lighting, the butcher block bar top, and the spectacular reclaimed lumber on the walls of the bar & entertainment areas, everything was absolutely beautiful! Wes and Martin were a pleasure to have working in our home, and couldn't have been more respectful and courteous! They were open and receptive to even the most minor last-minute changes to the construction and finish of the project, as of course was Brian. We were extremely lucky to have hired such a professional and friendly company, and couldn't be more thrilled with the results of their work. Everyone who has visited our basement has been extremely impressed by the finished product. Brian and crew just didn't hit a home run, it was a grand slam, and they knocked it completely out of the park!!!
Brian and his crew helped us design and create a usable basement space, with a play area for our kids, a desk for me, and a wine storage room, that will be used for years. They showed up on time and worked very hard to get our project finished. We can't wait to work with Brian and his company again.
Our new deck is amazing. I was very impressed with Brian's high level of customer service. Being a small business owner myself, I was thrilled to find that Brian runs his business the same way I do. He was prompt, communicated everything to us and finished the job in the time promised. We are planning on hiring him for many future home improvement projects.
We found Brian and Carpentry Connection through HomeAdvisor for our deck re-build project. When he got our information through Home Advisor, he called promptly and came to our house that night to estimate the new deck costs. We were tearing down a very small/old deck and wanted to replace it with one that went the length of our home. We had 3 other contractors come for an estimate and gave us some obnoxious pricing for a plain rectangular deck with no bells or whistles. When Brian came over, he listened to what we wanted and then asked if he could design something different. He drew up a rough design on a napkin and it blew our minds. In addition, Brian offered to build us a pergola, a privacy wall and a bar table included in our price. No other contractor offered anything different than a plain square design. Once the project started, his crew worked fast and the quality of design was way more than we expected. All the corners were rounded and he framed out the exterior portion of the deck for a nicer look. What impressed us the most is that Brian offered us upgrades that would have a better look and without seeing it, he was able to imagine things that we couldn't even think of. We took the extra upgrades even though it cost more and Brian was right, every upgrade we did made the deck look so great. Brian worked with us throughout the process and when we requested something, he made it happen. He figured out how to make it work. We could not be happier with his customer service, his craftmanship and the overall experience. We have had friends and family over and everyone was speechless when it came to his design and quality. We were very satisfied and he will be our first call for any future projects!
We are thrilled with the projects Carpentry Connection did for us. We had a deck with a screened-in porch added to the back of our house as well as a front door overhang added to the front. Brian was easy to work with even when we decided to make the screened porch a little larger after our original estimate. The entire job took a little longer than expected (partially due to weather) but was well worth the wait. We couldnt be happier with the end results and the great craftsmanship. We have already recommended Carpentry Connection to other friends and neighbors and will definitely hire them again for any future projects.
We have only one concern about the deck that was rebuild for us by the company. Quality of the material that was used. We agreed on the pine treated, probably the cheapest one but really didn't expect that many knots and even small cracks. Besides this labor and customer service were great.
I only had one disappointment with the deck removal and replacement job Carpentry Connection did for us. It was the quality of the material used. We chose pressure treated ac2 materials, this was what fit our budget. My lack of knowledge of current decking materials ultimately surprised us, material had far more knots than we expected and may prove to be a problem several years from now. My advise is do your homework before deciding on which materials to use. The quality and workmanship was exceptional, customer service terrific, Brian returned all my calls and address every concerns.
I have hired many contractors and Brian was the best.
Had a couple of estimates to remove and build a new deck with a ramp. I was impressed with Brian's details and knowledge also liked the fact that he was a local businessman. He managed to get the job done sooner than his original estimate and the end result was a beautiful deck. I would definitely consider hiring Carpentry Connections again.
We hired Carpentry Connection to reconfigure a layout of our living area. We originally had an architect to do the plans but we were not happy with his solutions. The space was rather challenging for what we had in mind, but Mr. Bouma, the owner of the Carpentry Connection, created a very interesting layout. It was just a sketch that he presented to us, but his ideas were very creative - he won us over on the spot with this sketch. These were not just four walls and doors. He designed an interesting hallway, added details on the floor, finished with the gorgeous trim work and even gave us a fantastic chandelier that he refurbished himself. In addition, Carpentry Connection helped us to decide on a few design ideas that we were planning to incorporate. They made us aware about space and budget constrains, so we could make a right decision. Mr. Bouma is very passionate about his work and has a lot of experience. The space Mr. Bouma and his crew created is beautiful and timeless. The work was completed within a schedule and within a budget. We highly recommend Carpentry Connection.
