Calvin D. Jones Contracting and Painting

Calvin came highly referred to complete an interior painting for 3 rooms along with the removal of wallpaper. A total of 3 bids were part of the bidding. We chose Calvins. He seemed knowledgeable and ready to take on the project. He arrived on day one with a ceiling contractor to begin. Unfortunately. as concerns were raised and insufficient prep of flooring to protect newly installed floors, Day 2 was full of prepping and only primed stairway. Due to the level of inadequacies, concerns to continue with the project we are mounting. Calvin expressed not feeling good to continue and felt as though he was walking on eggshells. Asked for receipts for labor and supplies which neither produced to support a prepay of $2,000. Advised Calvin that **in no way should a client concerns be defaulted as feelings and as homeowners, we entrusted you in our home to do contracted work**. If you value your home and money, please research the painter thoroughly, and not just on referrals. Definitely, a red flag, buyer beware.

Very professional! Got a quote last week and they came out a few days later and completed the job. Very pleased with the installation of wainscoting in my dining room.

Calvin had someone replace rotten wood and paint our front porch. He also put up new gutters. They did great work and we are very pleased with the results. He communicated very well and we will hire him again in the future.

Was completely unprofessional. Showed up late for the exterior as well as the interior of my home. Lied to my face on several occasions about his crew and when they would arrive. Never spent a time on materials to actually match the paint on both the interior and exterior of my home. Left my front door unlocked with my house vacant and for sale. Never actually painted one wall in my entire home. Received the buyers inspection and it is asking for an explanation of the shady patchwork that was done around my home, which costed me $2k to get repaired by a real professional. This guy is not the one to hire for any work on your home and you will regret having him do any work for you. He is a crook and has no business with a reputable site like HomeAdvisor. If they need pictures and documentation of the work that was supposed to be done and the buyers inspection I can present to prove that this was not an emotional review. This guy is bad business.

I experienced a hot water leak in my home, resulting in damage to my downstairs ceiling and hallway. Calvin responded immediately to my request for a quote, was professional and kind in person, and offered a quote shortly after surveying my damage. He and his team worked within the designated time frame (for drywall repair and painting) and made sure that I was 100% satisfied with the final product. Great work!

Installed crown molding in kitchen. Even though there were several plumb and level problems with wall and ceilings the highly skilled carpenter was able to work around this and finish a high quality job.

Fantastic job! Painted our stained stairs and trim inside. Very detailed and inspected every day. Took 4 days as predicted. Also Very friendly crew. Great clean up once complete. Will hire again!
