Called me right away ,asked about my project,gave a quote and stuck to that amount. Removed carpeting on steps and put it in dumpster. Removed all nails and staples,tightened all steps . Now they don't squeak or feel spongy when you walk in them

He is trustworthy reliable and does quality work

We hired Built by Baxter to completely renovate the staircase in our new home. At first glance, everything look wonderful. When you start to look at the details, there were many issues with his work. The skirt was painted without sanding each side, so they look completely different. The trim along the sides were completed in scraps instead of one long piece of wood. Two of the risers were done in two pieces instead of one, and are now starting to separate. A newel post and tread each had accidental cuts in them. Each of the newel posts were fastened differently, some horizontal, some vertical, and the holes were left raw instead of being filled in. When these issues were brought to Kens attention, all he agreed to do, was fill in the the holes. He went on to tell us sometimes things just have to be done in pieces, because there is no way of getting the right size. We found the right size EASILY, and asked him once more if he d fix this work, as it looks terrible. He proceeded to tell us if we wanted it fixed, he would do it for an additional $1160. There was no way we are going to give him more money, to do a job he botched in the first place. So, we are now having to hire someone else to fix his shoddy work. I must also mention, that he kept all of our original wrought iron. When we sent him texts asking where it was, he completely ignored us. I am sure someone else will be receiving it in their house and he will be charging them for it. Meanwhile, we lost out on the money we were going to receive from selling it. To say we were disappointed, is an understatement. Built by Baxter does not stand by work, and Ken is not the honest business man we thought he was. I would not recommend him to anyone.

WOW, just WOW …. Ken and crew did an amazing job on my staircase railing installation !!! In addition to the quality of craftsmanship provided, they showed up timely, were professional, spotless, finished the job earlier than anticipated and even came through and helped us in a serious time crunch! I would highly recommend Built By Baxter for your next project. You won’t be disappointed.

A++ work. For three years I wanted to change my white, outdated, non wood railings. I found Ken on home advisor and from the first initial call I knew I wanted to hire him.
