Archibald Heating and Air conditioning was established in 1938 by my Grandparents William P. and Marvel Archibald. My Grandfather's vision of a strong contractor that can be "trusted" begins to take shape. He creates the Archibald Heating and Air Conditioning "Mission Statement". My Grandfather operated the company until his retirement in 1959 when my Father Wayne G. took over daily operations. I received ownership of the company in1989 with my Fathers retirement. The staff of Archibald Heating and Air Conditioning to this day strives to continue the vision of my Grandfather and Father. Never polluted by corporate buy-outs, driven soley by numbers or strictly profit oriented, we are truly driven by the commitment of a lasting and healthy relationship with you the client. We are currently training generation number four to receive the gift of daily operations inside one of the Hudson Valleys premier HVAC Contracting companies. We specialize in certifications, cleaning, installation, repair & maintenance of all makes & models of Furnaces & Central Air Conditioning units for your home. We had a very positive experience with Archibald Heating & Airconditioning. From their initial contact they were professional and courteous. The salesman was very knowledgeable and made sure we understood exactly what was going to be done. He had a very pleasant and happy disposition. The project was completed in a timely manner and their employees were very nice and professional. Clean up was fabulous (don't find that with all contractors). I would highly recommend them for your project.

They were fantastic!! We were in need of a new furnace and hot water heater. They were informative, professional, and courteous. The owner of the company came by to review the job with us and make sure we understood what they were doing and broke down how our new system would work. Our old furnace started to leak before the day that we were scheduled to put the new service in and they were there almost immediately to put the new furnace in. They cleaned everything up and were very neat. All of the techs were informed about the product and were able to answer any questions we had. Also, the office manager Jennifer was great!!

John and Eric came to my house, when they said they would. They were very professional and courteous. They explained all of the options and what they were doing as they were doing it. The overall pricing we right within the estimate expected. FYI - Archibald Heating and Air conditioning came to my house within 24 hours of being called on an emergency over the weekend. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
