Started in 1996 to serve the historic communities of Greater Newburyport, American Renaissance quickly developed the reputation as the premier painting company on Boston’s North Shore. Having grown over the years due to customer loyalty and lots of hard work, we are now proudly providing skilled painting and restoration services to builders and property owners across the North Shore, Greater Boston, Southern New Hampshire, and Southern Maine. This reputation is maintained by the teams of painting crews made up of skilled craftsmen, many of whom have worked with the company for 20+ years. They are proud, courteous professionals who bring decades of experience to every project. Additionally, we strive to maintain a rapport with our clients that allows our customers to feel not just comfortable and confident, but excited in the choice that they've made in professional painting companies.

Josh and his team are amazing. They are reliable and do a great job - and some of the cleanest painters I have used - they made sure to leave my home clean of any remnants of their work. In addition, their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I would Highly recomend this firm. Manger Chase Hacket is very professional and responsive. He outlined the job and had a quote prepared very quickly. They were able to do the work within just a few days. Tallis completed the job in one day. His work was outstanding. The work area was cleaned meticulously after the job was finished. Well done and thank you American Renaissance Painting for a job well done

We had an excellent experience with American Renaissance, and are so happy with how everything turned out. Josh, Chase, Cardoza, and the rest of the crew were professional, amiable and a joy to work with (and not to mention they worked their butts off!). Great communication at every turn. AR's work truly transformed our house. Since the job completed, our neighbors and passers by have commented on how good it looks and how great the color is. Highly recommend American Renaissance for your projects.

If your neighbor hires this company, don't expect to sleep past 8am! They are loud as all hell while they set up! Yelling at each other in the neighbor's yard. Come on, you are in a neighborhood where people might work nights, or have a day off and want to sleep late! Ridiculous!!

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
