They were punctual and thorough. Design was somewhat complex with a large pergola and when there were solutions that needed to be arrived at the communication was excellent. Quality of the construction is very high quality and precise. We have had a lot of work done on our house and one thing that seemed to be a common thread among contractors was that once the sub-contractors got started the contractor would leave. Often-times the subs would take advantage of this and cut corners or do sub-standard work that would have to be done over again. This was not the case with Southern Decks. The brothers that are owner-contractors and make sure that they are present at all times when work is being done. They are very accommodating when there are changes that come up and either do the work or communicate a very fair price for the extra work. They do not take advantage of being in the middle of a project to impose extra charges. The work on the deck infrastructure was so good in its integration with the structure of our house that some areas of the floors inside of the house were notably more stable. It is as if we also received work to further reinforce the subfloor in part of our house for free. I wish there was a way to post pictures here because the deck and pergola is really awesome looking. I would heartily recommend Southern Decks for your deck project.

Franklin was very professional. He and his crew showed up when he said they would, they were very quick and proficient. Franklin explained everything that I needed to know about the process of building the deck. He is very knowledgeable, very communicative, and very respectful. My experience with Southern Decks was positive from beginning to end. The were the high price bid but so worth it. The bid was e-mailed and typewritten and very clear to read. The other 2bids were handwritten and not very clear. The work itself was done quickly and efficiently. I would definitely hire them again.

Southern Decks was very responsive. We have a large wooden gate, about 20 feet long, so that vehicles can get into our back yard. It twisted, and was almost impossible to open and shut. Southern Decks poured a new concrete footer, got a new gate post, and realigned the hinges and latch. This was all done in a few hours, only days after our first call. It was on time and done just like the computerized estimate, which had been neatly typed. Great job!

I hired Southern Decks based on their professionalism. They were not the low cost quotation, in fact they were the highest cost. They were the only vendor to type their quote the others were hand written. I could not have asked for a better one. They were efficient and the quality of their work was great.
