Reviews
Write a ReviewI highly recommend Almega. They were able to come out and check our heater on a Sunday. A motor had completely seized. They were able to order and install the new motor the next day at 8am! Technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. I will be recommending them to all of my clients as well.
We have been very conflicted about posting a review for Almega construction company, not because we are in any way happy with the results, but because it is never our desire to hurt a small, family business. We decided a review was necessary because we were so burned by this company and we needed to warn other potential clients as we wish someone would have done for us. The company name, Almega, is a play on the words Alpha and Omega meaning from beginning to end, they do everything. But, jack of all trades and master of NONE. There was not one thing that they did that we felt was quality work. From drywall to restaining the floors, to backsplash and even simple things like measuring correctly, they did a terrible job (seriously, our fridge barely fits in the space and only because we shoved it in). At the beginning of the project when we would point out the mistakes that we saw and how we were unhappy with them, they were accommodating and promised to fix them. But they never seemed to get to those things they promised to fix, they just moved on with the next project and we could not figure out why. Four months into the project, when we had paid them 95% of what we owed them, we realized that the reason they were pushing on to the next project was to get all of the money out of us that they could as quickly as they could so that they could stop caring about us at all. After we wrote that check, we did not see them for 6 weeks. We called and complained and they came for a few days and then came once a week for 6 hours (if we were lucky), did terrible work and left before we could come home from work to complain. Seriously, if they saw us driving down the street, they jumped in their car and left before we could see what they had done that day. When we complained and asked them to fix the things that we were still unhappy with, they told us that the product they had provided was perfectly fine (including electrical work that was not only a fire hazard, but also kept tripping and making our fridge lose power daily) and they refused to fix anything they had already fixed. We worked with them for months, even fixed the crooked backsplash and malfunctioning electrical ourselves. We were patient with their constant family conflicts that got in the way of them showing up at all. We were kind when they treated us rudely. And then, a year after we signed the contract with them, we decided we had had enough and fired them, even though we had already paid them almost entirely, which I almost wonder if that was their plan all along. We were so disappointed in this company because they seemed like the nicest people in the world, and seemed decent and honest in every respect and that they wanted more than anything else to give us a great product. We could not have been more wrong, and we felt it was our responsibility to warn others to be cautious entering into a business relationship with this company. In our case, they were either unwilling or incapable of giving us a quality product and we hope no one else has to have that same experience.
I hired them to install AC in my older home. Excellent communication from beginning to end, brought in their own electrical contractor so I did not have to coordinate this step, the final cost was less than the estimate! Honest and Trustworthy. Integrity and pride in workmanship!
Did a great job
Great honest and efficient company.
Straight forward.
Prompt and timely repair
The tech who serviced our AC was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to quickly and inexpensively fix our system in a single 45 minute visit.
Got charged a min for a 15 min job to unclog a pipe. Tech was upfront about the charge and handled it, but could have thrown in an inspection or something to provide additional value for the money.
I thought I would need major work/replacement of my air conditioning unit. It was a simple fix, nothing really wrong with it. The charge was very moderate; the explanation was very concise and the technician explained everything very comprehensively. When there is a need to replace this unit, I will definitely call Almega!
