After firing other pool maintenance companies I was lucky to meet Michael Lopez of 5 Star Pool Service. I bought a home with a few serious pool equipment problems and Michael explained to me what I needed and different solutions and costs that nobody else could provide in a manner that made sense. Michael is like an engineer on pool systems and will install a new heating system and repair electrical work. The funny thing is that Michael charges a little less than others for basic pool maintenance and you get the benefit of his extensive knowledge of the pool equipment. I'm relieved and grateful to have found him.

Michael is an expert in his field and the result of his work went beyond our expectations. We thought our pool needed to be emptied at great expense to us and instead Michael. cleaned and treated and looks like new at a fraction of the expense. I highly recommend 5 Star Pool Service.

Michael seemed okay at first when we hired him. He wasnt very talkative and we assumed he wasnt a very outgoing person. In reality it turned out that he is very bad at communicating and most of the time he doesnt bother responding to texts. The problems started when our solar-heated panels stopped heating the pool because, as we found out later, the switch for the toggle valve was in the wrong position. We dont know who or when this valve was turned off. Prior to finding out the cause of the problem, we had asked Michael for help but after looking at the pool equipment, he told us that he wasnt familiar with our solar panel system and didnt know how to fix the problem. We ended up having to call someone else who was knowledgeable in pool equipment who immediately pointed out what valve was turned in the off position. Problem solved. At that point the person we had called for help did a quick pool water test and establish that there were several things wrong, like zero chlorine and high pH, high level of conditioner. In addition he pointed out that the pool filters were in urgent need of a thorough cleaning. At that point we felt that perhaps we could have someone else more knowledgeable to take care of our pool. We sent him an email to let him know of our decision and explained why. His reply was unexpected and quite frankly ridiculous: He basically said that he had actually already removed us from his schedule a week earlier and that all the water problems that we reported were due to the fact that he hadnt serviced our pool for the previous 2 weeks. He also didnt bother to let us know that he had removed us from his schedule. He also didnt apparently pay attention to the fact that we have several Ring video camera installed around he house which showed that he had been to our house for both weeks. In our judgement this was his way to explain why the water chemistry was completely off. We were speechless. Needless to say we are happy to have now found a new great pool service.

Beware of this company!! Mike was fabulous when we first met! Said and did all the right things! But, be careful if you dare question his work! We told him we needed the pool sweep fixed! After 3 months of trying to fix it and communicate with him we gave up! He developed a huge attitude because we said we were not happy with the way the sweep was working! Every time, and I mean every time we reached out he never responded! We kept asking through text message because he will not answer his phone...and still no response! We are pretty patient people and wanted someone who would do the job so we would not have to worry about it! Never happened! We are now left with a pool sweep that does not work properly, so had to find someone new! Who by the way...fixed it on one visit! If you do not know how to do something you should be big enough to admit it! Without having your ego bruised! I would never recommend this company!!!
