1st Choice Surfaces

Jimi is congenial, knowledgeable, and his quoted price was reasonable. The work that was supposed to be done in less than 2 months, took 5 months. Most of the work was done pretty well. However, 2 major issues, both of which required extensive followup. As other reviewers have said, Jimi says he will show up and doesn't, makes a lot of promises he doesn't keep. First problem, master shower threshold tile was laid sloping in wrong direction so that water flowed out of the shower into the bathroom and bedroom. Despite repeated calls and promises to fix the issue, it was not addressed for 7 months, and only after threat to call Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Second major problem, plumbing under kitchen sink was done incorrectly with the drain set too low so that water barely can escape. Have had several significant floodings in the kitchen as a result. Another plumber said I was looking at over $1,000 to completely redo the plumbing and to remove/replace drywall to access the plumbing. Now I also probably have mold issues. 4-5 months later Jimi still won't come fix the problem, even though he admitted that he fired the plumber who was originally on my job during the middle of the job because he was incompetent. I cannot recommend 1st Choice Surfaces and I believe you will have the same problem with reliability and communication that has been cited by several reviewers and myself.

He is unreliable and does not follow threw his work. He does not return phone calls and does not do what he promise to do.

This was my first experience with this company, and while I didn't have a major problem, they recommended a company who could help me. Jaime Rodriguez of Rodriguez Grante and Marble came to my rescue and did a magnificent job for me! He was courteous, skilled in his craft, and his cost was very reasonable! Wonderful experience for me, and I can definitely recommend both companies!

He is the worst. He came and did an estimate. He did not listen to any of my voicemails or follow up with me. He gave me every excuse as to why he could not show up. The job was never done.

Jimi did a great job with our granite countertops and backsplash.

Absolutely fabulous job! I am ecstatic at the quality of the cabinets; the up-scale hinges; the dove tailed/self closing drawers; etc. Jimi was so professional and so pleasant to work with. I would recommend Jimi and his crew to anyone wanting any renovations done.

I'm not done with this project yet.

1st Choice removed an existing sink. Enlarged the opening in a quartz counter top and installed a new sink all with little mess and in a timely fashion.

Company does the job the right way. The do not cut corners.

Experienced. Didn't cut corners on their workmanship.
