"I feel so lucky that we were linked up with Carl at Mark Meredith LLC. We got completely crushed on a home inspection and had 30 days to make our closing. If not, there goes our dream home we were trying to buy. Carl showed up the same day I contacted him and looked at the deck which was what I had originally wanted a quote for. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable! I think he has the Fairfax County building code memorized. He gave us a very competitive quote, so we decided to get his opinion on all the other items on our inspection list. Their trucks say "we do everything" and man - that is so true!!! He went through item by item and if something was fine (home inspectors have no idea what they're talking about sometimes), he gave us a written explanation why it was fine. One by one, each item was ticked off in record time. Without a doubt, we would have never gotten to close on our home in 30 days without Carl. His crew was so fast and they are true tradesmen! The work working was absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. If we weren't selling and moving this company would be our go-to for all future home projects. Hoping we can find another Carl in our next area!"

"I contracted Oscar to stain my deck that he had already power washed. Sergio did the actual job and he was amazing. The deck required several coats of stain because the 28 year old wood just kept soaking it up. Sergio wasn't satisfied until I was happy with the results. He kept asking me if it looked okay and I would say that I thought it needed another coat. Never did he complain or display an attitude, he just applied another coat of stain. The end result is a deck that looks absolutely perfect. By the way, the temperature was 95, felt like 107. The next day Sergio returned to paint my 8 sets of shutters. He removed the shutters, painted them, and reinstalled them. Another hot day, no complaints, no attitude. Completely professional. I might also add that both Oscar and Sergio speak English as well as they do Spanish so communication was never an issue. I would highly recommend King General Contracting and I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"Having made several Home Advisor requests for "siding repair" (over the past two months with no call backs) I called HA customer service who was exceptional. I was connected to Jun Seong of Laurens Dad remodeling company. Jun called me immediately, gave a brief review of his work and what jobs he was already engaged in. He managed to work me in the following week. He rewrapped the siding on my bay window with IMPECCABLE PRECISION, took old siding off and wrapped exposed barrier, sealing and reattaching all along the lower third of the house siding. Installed flashing over the exposed brick (house poorly built), ensuring that water had a proper channel to escape. I cannot say enough about Mr. Seong’s professionalism, business ethics and a passion for quality of work. He did not rush, cut corners and was communicative throughout the process. “Laurens Dad Remodeling” is who you want to call for siding needs. As for the other “Home Advisor siding vendors” that ignored those two months of requests; this is poor business, people use Home Advisor as a trusted source but if vendors are being choosey on who to help or only select bigger jobs, I would say goodbye to Home Advisor/Angies List and seek more vendors like Mr. Jun Seong of Laurens Dad Remodeling. "We had a really good experience with Roofing Pups. Their rep Alex was great to work with, and the roofing crew that came to our house did a good job and cleaned up afterward. We opted to get our gutters replaced as well as our roof, which required a second day of work. The Roofing Pups employee in charge of this job (also named Alex) noticed that the color of the new gutters didnt match our house, and made a point of checking it with us before getting started. We really appreciated this as the new gutters would have clashed with the color of our siding! Everyone with the company was great about making the change, ordering new parts and rescheduling the job. We were very impressed with their service and professionalism. I have a 3 level single family home and it was hard to get to some very tall heights. Mariano was easy to work with. The rate was fair for the size and height of the residence. "It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Gradys Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. We are happy to have had the good fortune to be connected to Gradys Painting and Plastering & Construction by Service Magic."
