He cleaned the liner, flue and fireplace insert. He works cleanly and dilligently and offers excellent tips on improving the efficiency of using the insert. "The two technicians who came out to clean our chimney also found cracks at the top of the chimney and missing cement between some bricks. This explained why we were getting water in the fireplace during a heavy rain. They took photos to verify what was found. The workman then fixed all the issues, waterproofed the bricks and showed us the after pictures. They also scraped off the soot on the bricks in the fireplace as a bonus which my husband was happy about because he was going to do it. "I've hired Iljazi Masonry for two different jobs now because I've been so happy with their work. First we tore down our rotting deck, and had them install a bluestone patio. They laid a thick cement foundation so that I will never have weeds grow through between the stone and took care in cutting the stone and placing it so as not to be wasteful and so the pieces went together without looking too symmetrical. I wish I had done this years ago...one of the best investments I've made. Then I hired them again to repair/rebuild two stone pillars at the bottom of my driveway. They are super solid now and I expect them to last for years. I am definitely keeping them in mind for my next project when I am ready. "Upon a recommendation from a neighbor, we requested an estimate from Quality 1st for two jobs -- inspect and repair a brick chimney and repair our stone porch which had started to sink. Oscar came out within a couple of days, talked about the project, sent us an estimate and we hired his company. Couldn't be happier. Oscar told us the job would take one day, and we were a bit skeptical about that. But he did it and he did it well! Two crews came out and while one tackled the repair and repointing of our chimney, the other worked on our porch. Watching the crew repair the porch was amazing. We requested all the stones be reused because they were original to the house. When each stone was lifted, it was placed "puzzle-like" on a tarp, and after reinforcement of the sunken parts of the porch, the stones were replaced in the the same manner in which they were removed. The chimney is fixed and no longer losing bricks. We trust every bit of the work performed that day. The crew was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable--and Oscar worked right beside them.
