"I signed up to have a modular log home built on an existing foundation. The builder had a number of specifications that needed to be met to get the foundation ready for the new house. I contacted 8 other companies, but no one could help me with my long list of tasks. When I finally got ahold of Highlander Waterproofing, I started by telling them I was a problem child. I listed all the work that needed to be done and Mike told me that nothing on my list sounded sounded scary. I got a couple of visits from Mario, the manager, and Mike, the senior engineer, and one of their senior job bosses. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and suggested that I use steel supports instead of concrete to save space. Work started in August when Dewey and JT started knocking off the top 2 courses of block. "The Gents" - Dewey (the job boss) Devon, Jimmy, Matt, and Dave - did wonderful work. Because of Murphy's Law, we had to knock some walls down and rebuild them because of bowing, and we ended up adding an internal French Drain. They set rebar, poured tons of concrete, dug footers, put up steel support beams, installed glass block windows, put down sill plates, and rebuilt the front where the garage doors will be. I cannot even begin to say how pleased I am with the work they did. And they were a lot of fun to boot! They let me video them daily, tease them mercilessly, and they had the good grace to laugh when my dog made off with their breakfast jerky. There is still some work to do when the house actually gets here in April - insulating the outside wall, backfilling, putting the sump pumps in, rebuilding the center wall, and digging footers for the porch. I have absolute confidence in Highlander Waterproofing and "The Gents." I would recommend them highly and with no reservations to anyone who needs foundation work. I will add to this post with the final pictures in April."

Upon agreement, he and his crew got to work immediately (the next day) in making this happen. The efficiency and attention to detail was prevalent throughout the process. Unexpected findings during the work effort were clearly communicated and were remediated as part of the process. The outcome exceeded expectations and a full rundown of changes to improve the overall quality of the completed product were covered during the final review of efforts. "We have a historical restoration building in downtown Washington, D.C. We had sent out nationally 75 bids for period construction and historical restoration work. This job included replication or historical tiles in all bathrooms and also replication of historical tiles in all hallways. Also the replication/repair of period wooden windows, which were rotted, also floors needed structural repairs made. There was a large amount of decorative plaster relief work, which had to be repaired, and molds made to replicate areas that were non-existent. The exterior had a great deal of masonry repair work which included repointing of all brick and stone work. Also included in the exterior of this job was stone carvings that needed repair/replacement. Out of all of the responses to our bids which we national bids we centered upon the most knowledgeable and gifted company probably the best in the U.S.A which was Grady"s Construction and Plastering of Wilkes-Barre, PA. His unique gifts had given us the opportunity to bring back the granger and integrity of this very important historical structure in downtown Washington, D.C.
