"Diego Fernandez-Buzzy of Assistance in Paradise, crafted an attractive redwood front entrance for our home in Berkeley. He was willing to work with our ideas and came up with a lovely functional design while at the same time addressing issues like subsidence, drainage, structural problems and aesthetics. Our covered front porch was made of two pieces of concrete, one of which was starting to tilt into our front yard away from the house. Diego quickly assessed the situation and proposed ways to protect the existing structure from erosion and invasion by our cute little neighborhood critters. Diego and his assistant stabilized the roof, demolished the existing concrete, poured footings for the new structure and fixed up the walls of the house, matching the existing siding. Then, he built a beautiful redwood front porch for us with a Shaker style balustrade and stairs. He consulted with us on the various features and materials and we got exactly what we wanted. The quality of his work is impressive and we would recommend Diego and his company, Assistance in Paradise for any project you have in mind."

"Pat was very responsive, competitively priced and came with tons of experience. I hired him to replace an exterior door that had been damaged by the rain. He recommended an excellent door company, worked with them to build a door to our specs, painted it and stored it in his garage until the rain stopped, removed and disposed of the old door and installed the new one. Iâ  ve hired him again to install an awning over the door and weâ  re talking about starting to replace some of our windows. Iâ  m excited to work with him for years to come!"

"Maximo Construction gave us a great bid, has competent and friendly workers, kept to the agreed upon schedule, and turned out exceptional products in our new composite deck and pergola. Maximo engineered the pergola to hold retractable canopy panels. The pergola is extremely sturdy, symmetrical, and aesthetic. His communication was excellent throughout the entire project. I could not recommend him and his company highly enough. I will definitely hire him/them again!"
