"Mastercat successfully remediated our mold problem in several vents throughout our home, and a spot on our basement wall. We had ill-fitting vent covers which they also replaced - cut to size and painted to match. I was also given advice on how to prevent mold in the future which includes duct cleaning and simply repositioning some furniture and a humidifier. We also hired them in 2019 to remove mold after a basement flood. They cut out some drywall, and we haven?t had problems since. Mastercat was responsive to my request for a quote. They replied to me, came to assess AND completed work all in the same week. A team of 2 worked in our home and the job was completed in about half a day. They were efficient, thorough, and cleaned up after. They do honest work and the quote did not increase much, and when I was asked about replacing vent covers, they researched cost and asked me to approve before purchasing. I would absolutely hire them again but hope I don?t have to!"

I eventually learned that John also does estimates for a variety of insurance companies (because his company is so well regarded), and he patiently listened as I described the nuances associated with our house. During our initial consultation, he was able to clearly describe all of the steps that would be necessary and answer all of our questions. Long story short, not only was John able to address EVERY single concern and request that we had regarding the eventual repairs to the house (including roof, siding, and a window upgrade that would have cost much more if we had done it at a later time), but he spent plenty of extra time making sure that everything we had talked about was addressed to our 100% satisfaction! He was also able to persuade the insurance company to cover more complete repairs than was originally specified by the first adjuster! In addition, when we had an electrical "hiccup" associated with all the pounding on the walls, John quickly sent an expert electrician to locate and correct the problem. He absolutely could have passed those charges on to us because the failure wasn't due to any mistake on the part of his crew but, instead, he picked up the unanticipated expense himself. It was truly a pleasure to work with John! He made a difficult situation as easy to manage as possible, and we would strongly recommend J & K Home Improvement & Restoration to anyone who wants to hire a quality contractor that stands behind their work and well-earned reputation!"
