"I wish I could give Highland a 6 --- Best folks I have ever worked with -- ever, of any type. I will never again use anyone other than Highland for anything related to my house. Smart, cooperative, interesting, talented artists. With great subcontractors -- and all working as a team. I would be happy to speak with anyone who is considering Highland."

"We initially hired Shukhrat and his team to paint the interior of our house. They very extremely efficient and professional. Their quote was also more reasonable than a number of other contractors we interviewed. Eventually they did a number of other projects in the house including putting up wall paper in one room, replacing all the door knobs in the house, putting up shelves, changing out light fixtures, replacing bathroom vanities etc. Shukhrat worked with us extremely well and was very understanding when plans would change. He has become our go-to man for all our projects. He is respectful, honest, hardworking and does great work."

"D&R Improvements did a beautiful job on my bathrooms. David, the owner, was quick to give me an estimate and always responded to my e-mails the same day I sent them, even if it was on a weekend. He scheduled the tile installlation on a Friday and had a plumber come out on a Sunday to reinstall the toilets so that we wouldn't have to spend any extra time without them. Everyone who did work on the house was very professional and nice. They even worked with my three child gates rather than make me take them down. All of this at a very reasonable price. I love my remodeled bathrooms and I highly recommend D&R Improvements!"

"Personal and professional CEO. I was working out of state when my home flooded due to frozen pipe and flooded multiple levels and multiple rooms. MDH Contracting restored my home during this difficult time, and the work quality and professionalism exceeded my expectations. I later hired MDH on another occasion to build add an addition to my existing deck, and again was a very satisfied customer."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
