Joe charged me for assessment and trap set up but my receipt showed a higher amount. Less than 24 hours 1 trap closed while empty and he was notified and promised to come reset. 1 day later no show no call and a squirrel was seen getting out of remaining open trap. Joe was notified that squirrel got out he got agressive and yelled that's a lie because he has used those traps for years. He said he was charging me to return for his malfuncted trap. Joe stated "I need to know are you going to let me do $2000 worth of work I proposed to fix ur problem". I replied no I just want to to do what I paid you to do=catch squirrels. He yelled, "well your not letting me fix the problem if you won't let me do the work." Mind you it's now 2 days and he still did not show to reset traps. My mom contacted him to request a refund and called him out on preying on us for money.Joe called my husband and promised to refund a portion and pick up his traps. Day 3-4 no call no show. We hired another company who confirmed both traps were closed but malfunctioned causing them not to lock. Joe and the man that we hired sit on a committee together. Joe asked the man to bring his traps to him without refunding us as promised or any communication. In my opinion he is a liar and not professional. Choose another company. Run from Trapper Joe or you will be sorry! TRUST!

Timely, personable, excellent work ethics, great communicator, kept me abreast of project, answered my questions. Pray I never get squirrels in the attic. 😀

We suspected squirrels in the attic and contracted with Trader Joe to inspect our roof and attic. He charged my Visa $231.94 (though he receipted me $224.99) for the inspection and setting up two bogus traps. He greatly exaggerated the scope of the problem to us verbally and followed 3-days later submitting a a proposal for $2,145.00 additional work focused on overstated or unnecessary installations of vents, screens, ridge guards. A second opinion and solution from Rottler Pest Control solved the problem for $600.00, shared with my neighbor since we have intersecting roofs. Additionally, the roofing contractor, John Andres) who installed our new roof 24-months ago returned at my request to inspect and agreed that the proposed changes by Trapper Joe were exaggerated and not needed. I used Trapper Joe because of the prior positive reviews on the Home Advisor site, but now wonder if they are fabricated or has he changed and become dishonest as an animal control company. I will say one thing: he looks the part of a "trapper" but I ended up feeling like it was all theater that cost me $231.94.

I will refer this company to EVERYONE I know. They came when they scheduled, the assisted us getting the squirrels out of the holes they created, and their prevention plan is EXCELLENT. Better than Brand Name Corporations that do this business we have been using with NO RESULTS.

    Response from Company:

Thank you for the positive review. It was a pleasure working with you. Should you ever need our services again do not hesitate to call. Trapper Joe

They do not tell you what the total cost is going to be. Charged $195 to bring out a cage that was to small for the groundhog with no bait in it. Then brought another larger cage with bait a few days later. A animal was caught in a cage that our neighbor let us use, the trapper company charged us another $95 to take the animal away. At no time were we told we would be paying $95 for each animal caught.
