The rusted gutters and downspout in our 30+ year old home needed replacement. I made an estimate inquiry to eight contractors specializing in gutters. Zachary, the Estimator for Sunshine Gutters took the time to explain our options and physically showed us how the galvanized steel fascia gutters would be attached. We liked how our main gutter of 18' would be all in one piece covering one side of the house, vs. several attached pieces. We chose Sunshine Gutters because of the knowledge and transparency given to us when answering our questions, the quality of the product, the fact that the company is family owned and has been in the business for so many years, bonded & insured and that the foreman, Antonio, would be working on our house as well as two of their long time staff. We also liked that they would not be sub-contracting the work. Throughout the time that they were working on our house, Antonio was available to answer questions and give advice. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing and completed the work professionally and quickly, and we are very happy with them!

We contacted Sunshine Gutters after seeing the outstanding reviews on Angie's List. We met with Zack Allen, the sales rep, two or three times in June 2025. We initially were hoping for only new gutter guards, but Zack showed us the gutters were currently have were not installed to ideally drain water and recommended new gutters with their gutter guards. My husband, Tim, wanted to ensure they could make/provide us with creaseless gutters (no horizontal lines/creases), which is what we currently have. Zack said that could be done, but we would not be provided a warranty, which was a risk we were willing to take. I made the 10% deposit on 7/2/25, and the gutters were delivered the week of 7/7/25. Tim immediately noticed that the gutters were too large for our home and not the size of the gutters that we currently have. The gutters also have a crease in them, and we were told they would not have one. Zack came to our home, Tim and I both met with him, we did the measuring together, and he acknowledged that the gutters made are too large for the home. We were also told at that time that they had to make the gutters with the one crease, and we pretty much had to just accept it. We were not told this before them being made. He assured us that if an acceptable solution could not be found for getting the correct-sized gutters, we would get our deposit back. We have been trying to find a solution since the gutters were delivered. Tim and Zack had many text exchanges and phone conversations. On 8/18/25, Zack left Tim a voicemail saying he had been let go from the company. On 8/19/25, Carol Devia called me, and at that time, I informed her that this process had been so difficult and that we had lost faith that they could provide an acceptable solution for us. Carol told me to sign the Notice of Cancellation form and email it to her, which I did that same day. As of 8/28/25, we had not received a refund yet, so I called Carol back. She then informed me that Tammy, the owner, is the person who approves/provides any refunds, and she would, again, remind Tammy to call me. We have not received a refund, and the gutters remain in our side yard.

Response from Company:

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to address your recent concerns regarding the gutters that were delivered to your property following our meeting on June 11, 2025. As you know, Zack from our team promptly sent over the proposal, which you signed on June 18, 2025. I appreciate your interest in aligning the new gutters with your existing system. However, I understand that you are dissatisfied with the small round curve on the lip of the gutters, a characteristic inherent to how these items are produced from our gutter machine. I would like to emphasize that the gutters delivered to your site are indeed the correct size and intended specifications, ready for installation. Unfortunately, sourcing products that match the unique specifications of your existing system may result in multiple seams due to the limitation of off-the-shelf pieces being available in standard lengths of 20', 25', and 30'. Furthermore, I would like to remind you that the standard construction contract you signed includes a clause allowing for cancellation within a three-day grace period, after which the deposit becomes non-refundable. This policy is necessary as the deposit is allocated towards the upfront costs of material procurement and delivery. Although the restocking fee of $230 is typically charged for canceled orders following material delivery, Sunshine Gutters has elected to waive this fee to further demonstrate our commitment to your satisfaction. The gutters that were delivered to (Consumer name removed ) location approximately three months ago. As you are aware, we are currently dealing with an ongoing dispute stemming from a chargeback initiated by (Consumer name removed ) We are actively challenging this chargeback, and our dispute with the credit company is still in process. I want to assure you that we have taken every necessary step to resolve this situation. I have compiled and submitted all relevant documentation to the merchant, including signatures, photographs, product specifications, as well as details about the sizes and styles of the gutters delivered. This comprehensive submission should help in addressing the issue and expediting the resolution. At this moment, we are unable to arrange for the collection of the materials from (Consumer name removed ) property, as the dispute remains unresolved. We understand that this may be causing inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may have caused for both(Consumer name removed ) and your operations. Once the credit company provides us with an authorization to close this case, we will be ready to proceed. If (Consumer name removed ) still wishes for us to collect the gutters from her property, we will be more than happy to coordinate the pickup at her convenience. We were genuinely excited to execute your project as outlined, which included the installation of a standard 7" fascia. If you have any further questions or there is anything else I can assist you with, please don?t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your understanding.
