Stanek Windows - Cleveland

I spent $12,000 on Stanek replacement windows in 2012. My only installation complaint was that they never told me they would be installing additional trim on the inside. This shortened my window sills and reduced my ability to hang blinds inside the opening. In fact, it gave me very few options for blinds, so we are stuck with the cellular type that fit. Shortly after the install, Stanek was purchased by Great Day Improvements (GDI). In the spring of 2019, I noticed 3 broken seals (condensation between the panes). I contacted Stanek/GDI, and eventually they charged me $75 and sent someone to install replacement panes. One of the replacement panes was visibly defective, so that one had to be replaced again. The new window panes are obviously inferior to what I purchased in 2012. For starters, I purchased triple pane, heat mirror windows. My new panes are only double, not triple like I originally purchased. They tell me they do not make heat mirror anymore, so you immediately notice significantly more light transmission. That will probably result in higher energy bills and faded carpet and furniture. Starting in June, and since then anytime the weather is warm and the AC is on, I noticed condensation on the outside of the new panes (but not the old ones). This is an indication that conditioned air from inside my home is leaking through the window, chilling the outer pane, and causing the condensation. When I contacted Stanek/GDI, they took several weeks without getting back to me. Then, after I reached out again, they sent a letter describing condensation and telling me that this is normal. That is why I am here to tell everyone considering Stanek/GDI to consider other options. My Stanek windows are no better than the builders grade junk they replaced. If I could give zero stars, I would.

After spending $1,000s of dollars on 21 Stanek replacement windows in two different homes, we are having a problem with one window where the vinyl is peeling off. These windows were purchased with a lifetime warranty (a feature that helped us decide to purchase Stanek). We were pleased with the salesman, installation and installers but now that we need the warranty we have been told that they were sold and no longer honor the warranty. Stanek will not even come out to look at the window and based their decision on a photo. I am very disappointed and now wish I had purchased windows from another company. Do not purchase windows from Stanek as they do not stand behind their product... Not honoring the warranty only guarantees that you will spend more money to purchase a new window.

Installation was tedious and argumentative with each other

I have owned several Stanek windows for years and needed some repairs done. They were prompt in returning my call. Cory, the repair tech was courteous, on time, and answered all my questions and concerns.

Stanek windows made my experience getting some windows replaced very quick easy and as painless as possible. Arney the salesman kept in contact thru the whole process to make sure we were satisfied and happy. The installers did an excellent job showing us how the new windows fold in for cleaning and they also cleaned up everything from the job when they left. I recommend anyone needing windows give them a call.

Our entire house has Stanek Windows including a beautiful bay window and French doors to our deck that they matched the color to our new kitchen center island. The service personnel are top notch.

I had Stanek replace all of my windows and doors years ago. When Great Days first took over the company, I had some difficulty having repair work done. Since then they have willingly honored my contract and have done any repair work required. Corey, the repair person even offered to repair one of my screens on the spot for a very reasonable rate. Thank you for going above and beyond. Much appreciated.

Windows are nice. The installers were not very good. The salesman told me they would remove trim and install new windows trim and window sill would be put back. The installers were going to put trim all around window no window sill. I had to make them install window sill. Trim around one window was so bad you could move with your hand. They wanted to send crew back but I did not want them back I did it myself that way I new it would be done right.
