Hello, my name is Aaron, and I'm a 4th generation carpenter, starting back nearly 100 years ago, with my great grandpa Oscar, a cabinet maker in northern, rural NY. I am licensed and insured and have been given an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau. Our company slogan is "if you're not happy, we're not done yet". Our goal is to be your go to home improvement provider, and hopefully, for you to refer us to family and friends as well. In order to achieve that goal, we strive to do quality work at an affordable price and we stand behind everything we do. Our area of expertise is residential remodeling. This is what we SPECIALIZE in! Many other companies know how to do things in a new construction setting, but they don't have the decades of experience working on old houses like we do! Our years of experience working on old homes gives us the foresight to ensure your job will be done correctly, and as efficiently as possible, without creating problems for you down the road, or incurring unneeded expenses. I hired this guy to do a tub install and the work looks like a 3rd grader did the work...when I asked for receipts from materials he lost his mind and refused to give them to me...no invoice on completion...luckily I'm only out 1300 bucks....DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY ....

I never finished this job, because when I went to his house to collect a payment, Rich pulled a shotgun on me and my gf, loaded it and threatened to kill us, if he couldn't go thru my financial records. My gf video recorded the event and showed police, criminal charges are pending, Rich could be facing a 20 yr prison sentence See st. Clair county (Michigan) sheriff report #240047659. Rich's township supervisor told me he did the same thing to the Ordinance Enforcement officer.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
