Excellent company! Excellent work!
This review is for St. Cloud Retro Green. We own a home built in 1900. It was never insulated. 2x8 construction. They arrived on time and finished on time. They were super polite and did an excellent job!! We are very happy with them and highly recommend them!!!!
We hired RetroGreen to install foamed-in-place insulation in our house, which was built in 1960, with only 2" of wall insulation. For most houses, which have horizontal siding, installation is fairly simple. Our house has vertical board and batten siding, which makes the project more difficult. The installer can't simply remove a couple of courses of siding, do the work, and replace the siding. One approach for board and batten siding is to drill holes through the boards and insert plugs after installing the insulation. No matter how carefully this is done, I suspect the result would be visually unacceptable, with rows of obvious plugs around the house. Instead, I asked them to drill holes only behind the battens. I removed all of the battens, first marking the sides, RetroGreen skillfully drilled their holes within the lines, so when I replaced the battens, all of the holes were concealed. In one small area, that didn't work, so they provided plugs that closely matched the siding boards. Chris was quite helpful throughout the process, discussing options and making suggestions. The team was professional and efficient, providing protection and cleaning up on completion. The result is excellent; there is no visual evidence of the installation.
Education and honesty. Great company
Absolutely Excellent! Ethical, professional, detailed, fair pricing! Thank you!
They were late but did a great job and cleanup was perfect.
Would recommend
The main individual started out polite and everything seemed fine. However, when they did the actual work, the quality was poor and I had to ask them to correct NUMEROUS areas where they had no more than 1/2â of insulation, gaps, etc. I paid them $2600 for ONE ROOM. He became very rude when I asked him to correct items that were complete gaps, and he had the gall to rudely hand me a razor blade to cut away the areas they left sticking out well past the window edges . Worse yet, they had many areas sticking out well past the height of the 2x2â s so that it would have been impossible to install the Sheetrock! I had to have them fix many items and even then I had to correct several things myself at $100+ an hour my rate to trim / fix various areas ....
Professional and courteous. The folks on site took time to answer any question, wore masks and cleaned up well. They did great job painting the stucco after insulation and patching - house looks great. The insulation is already making huge difference in my 1911 house in Minneapolis- not sure the boiler will kick in till December.
