Thank you
He didn't know what he was talking about, he told me I needed a new system and made my unit sound old and dated. I got a second opinion and my unit was fine and just needed cleaning, very disappointed.
Problem with A/C was low refrigerant in 18 year-old system that was working last cooling season. Called One Hour Htg Cooling in Pleasantville for service to determine cause of loss and to replenish R-22. Found leaking at nut that joins high pressure inlet through piston orifice to evap coil. Technician said that threaded nut could not be further tightened to stop leaking. Options were that an entire new panel would be needed but that replacement parts were proprietary (meaning expensive sole-source) and that it would take six to eight weeks to obtain from manufacturer (Carrier) because system was obsolete due to changeover to new R-114 refrigerant. Alternative option was to install whole new 4 ton system at about $5600. Called Air Necessities Htg Cooling in Hammonton to get another inspection. Confirmed leak at nut coupling to evap coil. Tightened nut two and one half revolutions without turning resistance to seat union snugly. Checked with gas detector and soap bubbles and confirmed no leaking at threaded nut. Replenished R-22 and, for precaution, injected interior sealant for any other leak sites in A/C system. I do not recommend One Hour Htg Cooling because ineptitude at repairing systems is hidden by focus on expensive replacement options and purchase of supporting maintenance agreements for new warranted equipment.
Very professional, courteous, timely service. They were a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely use them and recommend them
