When I initially contacted Northstar my fireplace was working. A small part of flames was not lighting. I figured I needed a cleaning. The tech said my system was eventually going to go out and suggested a replacement. He said the new system works with a remote to turn on/off. I told him I would rather use the switch. He replaced it with the remote only system. I told him that is not what I wanted. When he left there was a very strong gas smell. I called him and he told me how to turn off the gas. He came back and tried to fix it but there was still a gas smell. It has been 2 months since and my fireplace is still not repaired. I have not been able to use my fireplace. When the tech came out he had no supplies to clean my fireplace. I gave him paper towels, clorox wipes, Windex and a lighter to light the pilot. I did not want to right a bad review but I do not want anyone else having to deal with what I have went through. I just want my fireplace working correctly. It is much more, I emailed the office and no follow-up.
