How much experience do you have?

Over 50 years combined! Co-owners Lydia & Ted bring decades of small business experience to Mister Sparky of Salisbury. Lydia began managing construction projects in 2000 and became a small business owner in 2013. Ted has been a Licensed NC Electrician since 1991 — safe to say he's seen his share of sparks! Every technician we send to your home has passed a drug test and background check and is extensively trained before ever stepping through your door.

Electrical issues can be stressful, but their technician took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel completely safe and confident in the work being done. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and treated my home with respect—keeping everything clean and organized throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find a company that combines skill, professionalism, and genuine care for their customers the way they do. I love having my own personal EV car charger. It makes owning an electric vehicle a piece of cake and I couldn’t have asked for nicer installation crew. I’m very happy with Mister Sparky’s work!

Upgrade an Electrical Panel

Had a great experience with Mister Sparky! They were professional, polite, and made me feel completely safe dealing with my electrical issues (which is no small thing 😅). They showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and even kept everything nice and clean while they worked. It’s such a relief finding a company that’s both skilled and easy to work with. I had stressed about getting my service upgraded but they truly made this a stress-free process, taking care of all the details for me. Definitely recommend!

Install Electrical Switches, Outlets, or Fixtures

Ted, the lead electrician with Mr. Sparky came out and took a look at our project for replacement exterior lights. He was helpful in making suggestions about the type of new lights to use and gave us a very competitive proposal. Following our acceptance of their proposal, their office called to coordinate an install date. That dayTed came by and installed our new lights and adjusted them perfectly. When we used the lights that evening we were extremely happy with our choice of Ted's firm and his recommendations as well as his workmanship. We are very pleased and intend to hire Mr. Sparky of Salisbury for future electical projects!

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
