Reviews
Write a ReviewMister Sparky was the first to call and seemed very responsive at first, so I engaged them immediately. Then it became clear they were completely disorganized. They misrepresented their staff as 5 Star technicians, when at least 1 was a salesperson. They didn't communicate scope correctly, they miscommunicated changes, there was no continuity between technicians, so a different face was showing up each time. When I tried to clarify the scope, they didn't attempt to call a supervisor or the sales tech who created the work order, they said maybe we should get someone else. So, I finally had to ask them to leave so I could get someone else. It's been a miserable experience working with Mister Sparly
Thorough and professional
I was quoted $4,147 to replace my home breaker panel and add a whole-home surge protector. It was a lot of money, but I got a second quote and it was about the same, and I didn't think the project would turn out well if I found someone cheap or tried to do it myself, so I paid Mr. Sparky to do it. The new panel works better than the old one, but does not have room for future expansions without switching to tandem breakers, and the two electricians (Brendan and Adam) cut too big of a hole in the drywall and left a 1.5-inch-by-1.5-foot gap above the panel's faceplate. When I said it looked ugly, they unscrewed the breaker box from the studs twice and screwed it back in twice trying to reposition it to hide the hole. There's still a visible hole, and now the studs have extra damage from making three screw holes for each of the four screws. I think the takeaway here is that there's no point in hiring an expensive electrician because they're just going to screw something up anyway.
