Joe was a great inspector. The inspection was extremely complete. Joe was very knowledgeable in all areas. He was pleasant, personable and answered all my questions during the inspection. He explained some issues noted immediately. The written report was delivered by end of day. Easy to read, lots of pictures were included and complete.

These guys were absolutely fantastic. From Mike who answered my questions on the phone, to the field tech Ryan, all the way up to the owner of the company who also had a hand in helping my situation. My mortgage company was being VERY particular about the report, and the guys at Main Choice Inspections worked with me for weeks to get it all sorted out. These guys bent over backwards, repeatedly tweaking and generating new reports to fit what they needed. The owner of the company himself even helped by writing a letter explaining some wording on the report, to clear up an issue the mortgage company had. All in all, this was a great company to work with, highly recommend them to anyone who needs a home, or in my case roof inspection.

The inspection report was the most thorough I have seen. The property was old and required a detailed and thorough inspection. Main Choice Inspections did a great job, gave a verbal report immediately after the inspection and provided a very detailed report with recommendations within a couple of days. Good value for money. I would highly recommend.

Inspectors ((both home and septic) were professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain what they were seeing in a way we could understand. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone whi is buying a home.

I had a horrible experience with my home inspection in Maine but the worst part is that everything seemed to be fine until I started improving the property. I did call Main Choice Inspections to give them time to correct the issue and they responded as if they would but never did anything. Let me summarize some of the issues that were missed. Heat - The day I walked into the house it was freezing. I was told the furnace was fine but clearly it was not. I tried to restart unsuccessfully and had to call a repair man to come. It needed a new controller $450. Chimney - the liner was in rough shape and needed to be repaired right away costing over $2000. Electrical - they said a few receptacles need covers. The reality was that it was a complete disaster. Even after going through the house with an electrician we still can't find where some wires go. We were able to decipher 5 out of 8 circuits. We also found a 50 amp breaker with a 20 and 15 amp feed coming into the breaker which would melt the line before it tripped. Job estimated at 15k Plumbing - there were no shutoff valves except at the hot water tank. $300. If they let me know these things ahead of time I would have negotiated a minimum of 10-15k off of the price to address these issues. I would never use this company. They don't even stand behind their work!
