My entire experience with Michael Anthony services was an absolute pleasure. Mike was honest, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with from the first phone call. Steer clear of this business. The owner offered me $500 to sign a NDA to not post a negative review. I wonder how many other clients he paid off? After sending over my 50% deposit in March (a couple thousand dollars), I was assured that once temps warmed up, "we would be first on the list" to complete a small back patio fix, clean, grout, and seal. I touched base a couple times in Spring to align schedules to begin work. He was a "no-show" 3x and started ignoring my phone calls, texts, and emails. We had to call from different phone numbers in order to get him to answer. After months of waiting, we wanted our deposit back. He said we would still have to pay for materials. I threatened legal action to get our deposit back in full. He showed up at 8:30pm three days later with my deposit and the NDA offer which he jumped from $400 to $500. He was incredibly unprofessional, did not deliver in a timely manner, and then had to gall to offer $500 so he could keep his 5 Star Review.

I recently spoke with your neighbor across the street (the one who originally referred you to us after we completed their paver patio). Over a year later, they?re still thrilled with the work and continue to recommend us?which reminded me that this never got the honest response it deserved. Let?s set the record straight. You were referred to us by a happy client in your own neighborhood. We were open about expected spring delays due to weather and scheduling. We fell short on communication during that period, and we?ve since taken real steps to improve?hiring additional staff, tightening scheduling systems, and improving responsiveness. When you decided not to proceed, we agreed to refund your deposit in full?even though we had already ordered custom materials for your project. Our initial, standard protocol was to refund your balance minus the material cost, which we offered to personally deliver to your home along with vendor receipts at our contractor pricing and zero markup. That was a fair, transparent option. But after a tense call from your father, who expressed his concerns, we made the decision to go above and beyond: We refunded 100% of your deposit?and absorbed the material costs ourselves. Legal action? To be clear, there was never any mention of legal action from you or your family. None. Just a refund request?which we honored fully and without hesitation. And the $500? It wasn?t hush money. It wasn?t tied to a review. It was a goodwill gesture?a voluntary offer to apologize for the inconvenience. That?s something very few contractors would ever do, and we stand by it. Ironically, the biggest fear most homeowners have when hiring a contractor is, ?What if they take my money and vanish?? In your case? Not only did we not vanish?we showed up to your door, refunded every dollar, and added 25% on top. If that?s what ?unprofessional? looks like, then we?re redefining the term. We?ve even joked internally that if this keeps up, we?ll need to launch a loyalty program: ?Michael Anthony Services ? Where delays pay.? ? (Not a great business model, but it does speak to our values.) Your neighbor?s patio still looks incredible. They?re still happy. And we continue to grow?one referral, one real result at a time. ? My house was built in 1958. Recently I found a hole in my backyard. Angi linked me up with Michael Anthony Services. Michael patiently explained to me that it was an old septic tank and it needed to be refilled. His team were truly professional and did a superb job from start to completion; and far exceeded my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael Anthony Services to my friends.
