Reviews
Write a ReviewMichael is my go to handy man for projects around the house because he takes the time to explain what he is doing and why he is doing it. He built a custom gated area for our dogs, swapped out some light fixtures, replaced a wall switch, and replaced roofing on our pergola.
I hired Michael to replace an existing lock on a secure iron door. He had a difficult time removing the existing lock so he cut the lock off the door. We had to special order a new lock. Michael ordered it from a locksmith and I picked it up. We planned to have the new lock installed a few days later. Having the exact replacement lock, Michael was not able to correctly install the new lock and actually damaged the new lock trying to install it. Michael was not paid and I did not charge him for damaging my replacement lock. I hired a reputable and well known local locksmith who was able to uninstall and reinstall the lock correctly within an hour. For a professional contractor, i also didn?t feel it was appropriate to bring his pregnant wife to the job site.
It was on an old lock from the '60s and I thought I was going to be able to install it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it perfect. It was to a functional level. I wish I could have done more. I wasn't happy with my work so there was no charge. The customer wanted me there right away. I came right after an appointment my wife had. She sat in my vehicle during the service.
This guy is a disaster, do not hire him. He can not finish work.
The customer hired me for a fixed rate for one day of my time to do work. He had an a lot of work that could not be completed in one day. He paid me for the day. When I can back, he requested a quote to complete the remaining work. After I gave him the quote he declined it, so we decided not proceed any further.
I was not satisfied.
Mr. Guthrie, was very in touch with exactly what I needed to be done here in my home. I will ask him to come and work for me again because he's very reliable. And I will recommend him to other people, friends and family.
To put it briefly, Michael Guthrie saved my butt! after the first guy didn’t show up, and the second guy’s life deteriorated into chaos (after having completed about 1/4 of the work), MJ Guthrie swooped in leaving my project completed perfectly, beautiful, done right, and all cleaned up. An excellent choice! (My project was to refit a cabinet to accommodate a new oven and separate microwave after having removed a combo unit)
Michael and his dad installed cabinet onto walls with difficult geometrics. And did a fine job for a good cost additionally they refurbished my closets and tv wall inset shelf. All items are properly functioning and professionally installed
