Write a ReviewRichard Story has been a superb landscaper for us for years. He has done outdoor landscape lighting design, landscape irrigation design, and paver design to give our home a very luxurious appearance. His prices are always fair and his work excellent. Richard is also one of the hardest working persons I know and I strongly recommend Landscaping by Richard Story.
Richard is a great landscape lighting designer. I’m very happy with the outcome. I will be using him for all my future landscaping needs.
We recently hired Landscaping by Richard Story after researching landscapers in the Palm Harbor/Dunedin area, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Richard really listened to what we wanted: a tropical design with palm trees, lots of flowering plants, and open runs throughout the yard for our dogs. He proposed a thoughtful plan, kept us informed every step of the way, and completed the project on time and within budget. The finished yard is exactly what we hoped for, beautiful, functional, and our dogs absolutely love it. Richard also made smart recommendations that helped bring our dream yard to life. His team specializes in landscape design, outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, sod installation, paver sealing and repair, hardscapes, curb-appeal design, and more. He’s easy to work with, reliable, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend Landscaping by Richard Story for anyone looking to transform their yard.
He did a great job! Good work and good prices!
Run for the hills!!!! I lost about 20 grand on an artificial turf Project. When he did show up his nephew Kyle did all of the grunt work. He would disappear for 2 to 3 hours at a time there was one Sunday where he actually came to work with supposedly his girlfriend and a friend who quote" knew how to put down artificial turf" Well guess what used my slate Rock to hold everything down. As I was blowing my backyard which I do every day because I have a lot of oak trees the turf was just flying up and the leaves were going underneath it I knew I was in big trouble at that point and I fired him. And then it took 5 days and a call to the Palm Harbor Police to get him to remove his tools off my property. This man should only be pushing a lawn mower and maybe operating weed wacker. Believe me Saf Fer Landscaping is the way to go. You pay for what you get.
Dissatisfied with result, was unable to finish.
Hello, I want to provide a full and accurate explanation of what happened with this project: Medical Emergency & Hospitalization: During this job I experienced a sudden medical emergency and was hospitalized. I required surgery to remove a testicle. This is the only reason the job paused — it was not abandoned, and I communicated that I intended to return and finish as soon as I was physically able. Work Completed: Before my emergency, we completed approximately 75% of the project, including the base preparation, compaction, and majority of the turf installation. Materials Purchased: We purchased and delivered all turf materials, including an additional turf roll and all base material. These materials were fully paid for by us. Customer Hired Another Contractor: Without giving us the opportunity to return, finish, or correct anything, the homeowner hired another company to take over the project while I was recovering from surgery. We were not contacted before this decision. Our Materials Used by the New Contractor: When we returned to the property, we discovered that: The extra turf roll we purchased had been used by the other contractor. The base material we delivered was also used (our wheelbarrows had been emptied). Missing Tools: Additionally, a case of our tools valued at approximately $3,000 was missing from the property when we returned to retrieve our equipment. Because: The job was not abandoned, The delay was due to a documented medical emergency, 75% of the job was completed, The homeowner terminated the project by hiring another contractor, Our materials were used by that contractor, and Our tools went missing on the property, no refund is owed, and we actually incurred financial loss due to the homeowner’s actions. We are committed to professionalism, but we cannot be held responsible for a situation where the homeowner replaced us during a medical emergency, used our materials, and allowed our equipment to disappear. Thank you for your understanding.
Richard did a fantastic job. We are so happy with our new landscape. Very efficient and the price will not shock you. Thank you to Richard and his helper
Richard showed up!! He worked with my husband and I and gave a great design and quote. He started almost immediately and worked very hard.. I had contacted 4 other landscapers. 3 came by, said they would work up a quote and send to me. Even after I text, called and emailed them after their appointment, they never responded again. One landscaper never showed for his appointment. Richard is by far the most professional and understands how to communicate. Very pleased.
Richard was very professional and personable. I like that he kept in communication from start to finish. This was a refurbishing of our landscaping, replacing dead/overgrown shrubs and putting mulch around the gardens. My only reservation is that the price felt a bit high for what was done, however we are very satisfied and plan to use Richard Story in the future for our landscaping needs.
This was an irrigation/drainage problem. Excellent job. , I would use his services again.
