Poor concrete job for a concrete business. We hired KP Concrete & Design for our concrete needs for our backyard and driveway. On March 28th, 2025, concrete was poured. We have been unhappy since May 2025 with the concrete. Paxton, the owner kept saying it was moisture over and over and over. We kept reaching out asking him to come see it. He kept having excuses and never would come look at it. I reached out last month telling him my frustrations and how unhappy I am with the concrete job at my home that I was going to write a poor review on Google reviews. When I said that, he all of a sudden had time to come look. He quickly came and left saying that the concrete does not look right. He said he was going to look at the paperwork from the job. Never heard back so reached out again, frustrated again. He send me the paperwork and admitted that the concrete does not look right and proceeded to fully blame me for putting sealant on it which I never did at all. He was incredibly rude.
Response from Company:
Christine it is unfortunate that you are unhappy with your project. When we left your property with the back patio and driveway looking great and we/ you were happy with the work. (at that time) Fast forward to one year later, we could not help but to notice you have been writing bad reviews about us on Google, Angies, Nextdoor etc...and are clearly upset. So to set the record straight... We received your text messages and promptly responded to both you and your husband (every time)...Addressing your concerns we ask that you send us some photos of the problem areas. Upon inspection the concrete appeared to look water logged with spotting in areas/around the control joints, we requested that your husband Shawn pour water on the slab in some of the spotting areas and send us another photo to see if (when saturated) the spotting disappeared, indicating that there might be excess water under the slab via the sub grade. (It did not) Next step, if the spotting was not caused by excess water saturation, it appeared that a sealer had been poorly applied to the concrete. It was noted on your file that Shawn declined to have us seal the patio/slab. We then sent out the owner of the company to do a spot check with xylene to see if a solvent sealer (what we use in house) had been applied, and to perform a scratch test to see if the mix had lost strength indicating a possible issue from the concrete supplier SRM. (also to double check that there was not water entering the slab or any broken utilities around the project) There was not a solvent based sealer applied, the slab did not appear water logged nor did the concrete fail the scratch test. Additionally we reviewed the batch tickets from the supplier and the mix/design was delivered promptly, with adequate water content, and poured/finished to ACI standards. (see attached photos) We noted that it appeared to have a "Cheap" home depot esk sealer applied to the slab, and that aside from pulling core samples (which we recommended you have done) and sending the concrete to a lab for a full analysis to see whats sitting on that concrete...there is nothing more we can do. You and your husband have been incredibly rude, chain calling the company owner 8x times in a row back to back to back after hours prompting his number to get blocked, sending threatening text messages, and slandering everyone in the organizations names. Further, we poured your neighbors driveway and patios, with the same colors/design as your property...weeks later, and that project still looks great. We continue to recommend getting a core sample...hopefully that will resolve the mystery of whats sitting on that slab. Best of luck. God bless.

Since September 2022, a month after installation, we have been experiencing issues with spalling and several other problems (see below list and pictures for reference). Despite our repeated attempts to contact the company through text and email, they have consistently disregarded our inquiries. After a lengthy email accompanied by photographs, they finally acknowledged the issues in 2024 and made promises to address them. However, they have consistently failed to fulfill their commitments, including providing a concrete report. After a concrete report was requested from KP Concrete, we were informed that they could not recall the company that supplied it but could be 1 of 2 companies. Consequently, we had to contact both suppliers which by the time we figured out who they were, they do not keep records beyond 6 months.
Response from Company:
We're sorry you are unhappy with the beautiful walls, stair set and patio we built for you. We went ahead and posted photos of this project on our profile so everyone could see the project and how beautiful it was when we finished building it. For some reasons we cannot post those photos in line with this response. To address your review. We sent a representative out to your property after numerous calls/texts and email responses. Each time addressing your concerns. 1. Concrete cracks, while cosmetic in nature your patio is structurally sound and held together with rebar, a compacted subgrade and an exterior air entrained mix with fiber. (Th

Honest, creative solutions, excellent customer service and the quality and price are spot on! They work within your budget to achieve long term quality solutions instead of quick fixes that last only a few years. I canâ t say enough good other than call no others, I vetted 5 others and am thrilled I went with KP Concrete and Design!

KP did an excellent job. They got the work done quickly, it was high quality, and though more expensive than some other bids, the quality was worth the price. Paxton was friendly and knowledgeable, and was able to design exactly what we were looking for.
