How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I believe that solar makes a difference in our world, is an ethical solution, and that it should come at an ethical price. Jackson Solar LLC is locally owned an operated in Jackson, MO by Southeast Missouri State University Graduate Jacob Long, who graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Sustainable Energy Systems as it relates to solar energy. The belief of our company is that providing environmentally ethical solar energy generation systems, should come at a fair, honest, and ethical price, and that communities, no matter how big or small should work together to provide a cleaner earth for our generation and generations to come. Jackson Solar aims for transparency in pricing, education, and loyal customer service provided to the community for now and many years to come!.

Install Solar Panels For Electric System

We had a great experience with Jackson Solar. We received a very reasonable quote, about half the cost of a quote we got from another company, and with the same 25-year warranty on the products!! They were very quick, and professional, and we love watching our solar system produce electricity with our monitoring app. It is also really great to see the savings of over $100 a month on our electric bill! We are saving green in more ways than one! Thanks, Jackson Solar. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Install Solar Panels For Electric System

Jackson Solar gave us all of the information we needed for installing solar on our home. They worked with us to size our system appropriately for our electrical needs and even walked us through the cost effectiveness and payoff of our system. We had previously gotten a quote from some other companies and Jackson Solar had the best price by far. They did the installation quickly and were very clean, and we are now enjoying the benefits of using the sun to generate electricity for our house! Highly recommend for solar installations on your home!

We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
