I got fined because a Rock Wall contractor messed me up by telling me a permit was not needed so I had to pay a big fine. A friend recommended Aaron Shimizu Architecture company who was quite knowledgeable. Aaron was quite easy to talk to and made me relax by explaining the process he was quite knowledgeable He explained the steps and started the process for the new permit very quickly and as we progressed his staff kept me in the loop. I became very relaxed because of his experience. I got my legal permit after the process was finished. If I have any problems again I will definitely call Aaron he is a smart man.

Aaron Shimizu is the rare architect who’s both design-minded and execution minded. We run Lanikai Homes (high-end renovations + design), and Aaron has been a key partner for us personally and professionally. He’s responsive, communicates clearly, and produces plans that builders can actually build from—no fluff, no confusion, no surprises. The biggest thing that sets Aaron apart is his deep knowledge of Honolulu DPP and permitting. He doesn’t just submit drawings, he knows how to navigate the system, anticipate issues before they become expensive problems, and help people get out of situations they didn’t even know they were in. We’ve seen homeowners buy a house and later discover unpermitted/nonconforming work that can lead to major headaches or fines. Aaron is a wizard at creating a clear path to get things legal and moving forward. If you want someone sharp, practical, and dependable—especially in Honolulu, Aaron is an easy recommendation.

C&C is a waste of corruption and nonsense. Hawaii needs to get rid of the entire corrupt government officials. Fair and Equitable taxation is nowhere in Hawaii. Simple arithmetic will genuinely show how corrupt Property Assessment is where those who own less pay higher taxes per square foot than those who live in luxury.
