Reviews
Write a ReviewThe workers were very particular. Our salesman left and we had to depend on a very competent associate. Love the tile!
Omar Torres from Fix It did an outstanding job removing our old outdated back splash in our kitchen, repaired the wall to flawless condition and installed our new subway tile back splash. We will defiantly be hiring him when ready to replace our tile floors. Super guy, super prices, and super job done on our project!
This project was started due to leaks in my bathroom following Hurricane Irma. There was nothing positive about this experience. The workers did not show up when they said they would and didnÂ’t call. The project was to replace a window in the bathroom which was leaking, demolish the existing tile wall in the shower to determine if there was water damage behind it and remove all tile in the bath as it could not be matched. New tile was to be installed everywhere there had been tile, except for the ceiling. The window was taken out without covering the tub below and bits of drywall and tile went down the drain. The company did nothing about removing that debris, but did clean out the tub after the tile was removed. However, either from the debris falling in the tub or the clean-up of caulking , they scratched up my tub. While removing the tile, some damage was done to the surrounding wall. That was patched and sanded. However, the wall has a texture so just painting it leaves a spot. The wall has to be retextured or totally sanded out. After the new tile had been ordered and received by the company, I was told that because it came with no bullnose, it could not be used around the baseboard area where tile had been before. Because the drywall had been damaged in the removal, the company suggestion was to use standard baseboard with quarter round. I ordered that, but after it was cut, they told me it was not high enough to cover so they could not install it and I would need a taller baseboard. I went out and bought that, brought it back to the house, but they did not know how to install it correctly. There was a gap between the baseboard and shower which they tried to cover with caulking, cut pieces out so the vanity door would open (but wonÂ’t open fully). They put brown paper down on my hardwood floors and taped it. When they removed the paper and tape, they also removed the finish from my hardwood floors. At the conclusion, the tile installer said they were finished, but when I pointed out that my plumbing fixtures had not been reinstalled, I was told that he did not know how to do this and had to wait for his boss. The boss, Emerson, reinstalled the handle and faucet. A week later, the handle came off and a few weeks later when I again had guests, I learned that water was running behind the faucet once the shower was turned on. I am back to where I started as I donÂ’t know whether there is water damage behind the wall. I tried to get the debris out with a shop vac, but could not get it all. The tub has to be removed to get at the debris in the drain, tile has to be removed to see about the water damage, a new tub installed, tile installed and the plumbing fixed. Then there is still the issue of my hardwood floor.
5 plus star service and quality of work. I am an out of state customer. He took a lot of pictures and was always available over the phone to answer my questions.
It was pleasure working with Chris. I gave him a picture of the type of tile design and color I was interested in and he delivered. I absolutely love the finished outcome. Would definitely use again as well as recommend to family and friends. Thank you Chris and Hassell Free Tile & Window.
