G&G Concrete reached out to me a couple of weeks before the project began with a rough estimate. When I was ready to proceed, the contractor came to look at the project scope and gave an update to his estimate if necessary. He stuck to his original estimate of about $7800. He originally indicated that he would start on 7/18 after he had a permit. He later asked to start on 7/16. He claimed to have a city permit and tore up my drive on the 16th. Work stopped for a week. He claimed that the inspector needed to approve his work, but we were also waiting for him to receive an initial permit. I checked with the city on the 18th, and they indicated that he would not have the permit until the 22nd (3 business days). The contractor did no further work until the 23rd. He then slowly finished the concrete forms. He ended up laying concrete on 7/27 when I was away and could not supervise the work. I came back to find multiple aesthetic deficiencies including uneven surfaces, and a very poor and crumbly right edge. I also note that the job likely lacks a joint from front to rear where there is a wide span of concrete without a joint on the left side. He had also totally disregarded my request about how the curb on the front-left side of the driveway should be done (to match the appearance of the neighbors). I spoke to the contractor about the deficiencies. He worked to improve his appearance on 7/30, but he did a poor and incomplete job. He also indicated that I could talk to the city about the asphalt to be put between his work and the existing street. He indicated that bags of asphalt were available at Home Depot. He had indicated that the asphalt would be part of the job but implied that I might get the asphalt and work around the city's expectation of hot asphalt to be delivered; otherwise, he stated that it would take some time to have asphalt delivered. He had indicated that I could talk to the city inspector when he came by along with him, but that did not happen. The contractor does not follow through with what he says and seems to outright lie about some things. Making this whole process even more complicated, he neither understands English well nor speaks it to the extent that it is nearly impossible to clearly communicate expectations to him and clearly understand him. I have tried to be understanding of that difficulty, but the lack of quality in the final job makes that a moot point. Having waited until I had sufficient funding to have this job done, it is very disappointing that I could not get it done well by a contractor that I found on Angi who seemed to have almost exclusively 4.9 or 5.0-star ratings.

They were very professional, prompt, and communicated our project well. They did a new circle driveway, (3) porches, and extra parking spot.

I needed a pier & beam foundation poured. The trench had been done by another contractor who never came back to complete the job. G&G came out, removed the rebar, cleaned out the overgrown trench, added extra rebar and poured the concrete. They were prompt, knowledgeable and very professional. Came out, gave an estimate and finished the job right on time. Will definitely use them on any concrete job in the future.
