Worked with us to develop preliminary designs for a new house. Very conscientious and professional. Took the time to consider all of the technical and people issues related to the design package.

She is very good with what she does. She always has good ideas, is very helpful and knowledgeable about the materials. She is very professional and has all the answers and doesn't use/need the internet! So far everything is good and I can't complain. Been working with her for 9 months now for a variety of projects and have recommended her to others.

This was the beginning of our nightmare. We hired her to do a sketch for a change of occupancy in a retail space and what a mistake! She does not have communication skills. Never worked in our behalf. We hired her to do this sketch for us to comply with the city but instead she treated us like she was hired by the city! She was not clear an specific from the beginning with us in how to handle the process, even though she knew and we told her it was our first time and she said that will help us during the process. She was overcharging us for travel fees that were not made and if we didn't review the "appraisal" again would have end up paying them. We tried to meet with her in various occasions at her "office" to discuss the problems and she will not even give us her office address. What type of business person doesn't have an office to meet with clients? Instead of communicating with us in the specifics for the job, was always communicating with the city therefore making the process more difficult. Even on the report that she supposedly wrote, we found countless mistakes that we have to constantly ask to fix. We can tell it was a copy and paste type of job, couldn't even spell the name of the church. We never have worked with a person so unprofessional, so please so yourself a favor, and DO NOT HIRE HER!!! And save your self a headache.
Response from Company:
We use a universal code IBC that is used by all architects and building officials so there is a lot of overlap with the building department and the professional providing specific requirements for each project. This client had unrealistic requirements for a routine document and request that needed to be coordinated with the city. This sometimes takes a conversation and clarification with the building department. I was more than happy to do the necessary revisions and reviewed these requirements with owner and building department after completed. I understood their budget was tight and was trying to save them time by finding a spot to meet them halfway so they wouldn't have to come out to my office from Cambridge to Hopkinton or visa versa to be considerate. There was never a fee charged them for this time and explained that right away. I came out for free as I do for all first visits and continued to explain that an email signed document is accepted by the building department. Extended travel time was not necessary. I believe the problem came with the interface of their assigned project manager. I don't think he expressed their needs or misunderstandings. It is important to work as a team. And I hope to clarify this very important point moving forward.
