What is the benefit of dry extraction (low moisture) carpet cleaning over the typical steam cleaning process?

Besides the huge benefit of not having to cope with wet carpet there are numerous other benefits of dry carpet cleaning. Perhaps most important is the avoidance of over wetting. Over wetting can Promote bacterial growth, mildew, mold, and also can weaken the carpet backing. Carpet is glued together with a Latex adhesive, which over time will disintegrate when exposed to water, especially hot water. Excessive moisture can activate odors that have been dormant. Also, spots will not reappear after dry extraction because there is no risk of wicking. When water is sprayed into the carpet under great pressure, gravity pulls it and the loosened soil to the bottom of the carpet. As this wet soil begins to evaporate, the carpet fibers serve as a wick and the wet soil begins to migrate back to the surface of the carpet causing the spots to reappear. Reappearing spots do not occur when the moisture is controlled with the Strong Dry carpet cleaning system. The cleaning compound is moistened with water, detergent, and a little safe solvent. It leaves no dirt-attracting residue, so the carpet actually remains cleaner for a longer period of time.

I was alittle in doubt because they were the lowest $ quote I got for the job. Was worried job wouldn’t be great. The owner did the work by himself- was here over over 4 hours (usually takes an hour)! The man was meticulous- got stains out that I’ve had for years, and had cleaned before with Stanley steamer to no avail. Honestly was exceptional. He seems to get booked up (I had to wait a week) but it was absolutely worth it for me.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
