We hired Paul and Vicki to remodel 3 bathrooms and re-tile our entryway and kitchen (plus additional odds/ends jobs). I can't begin to praise them enough!!! They were very honest and comfortable to talk with, they provided the most detailed and responsible quote (nothing left out) over all other bidders, and what's really wonderful -- they do all the work themselves. You will NOT have a separate team show up at your door to actually perform the work. I am a perfectionist by nature and I rarely meet someone that has the same drive and expectations of themselves as I do -- but Paul and Vicki's high caliber and detail-oriented style impressed my pants off to say the least. I generally feel like I have to look over everyone's shoulder to ensure I'm getting what I paid for -- and it was the exact opposite with Cunningham Construction. Their work was so impressive, professional and beautiful that I felt 200% comfortable with leaving them in charge of everything and, without fail, they far exceeded our expectations on every remodeling project we hired them for. We've had friends and neighbors come by to see their work and they are equally impressed and plan to hire them for their own future projects -- yes, they are THAT good! Their pricing is very reasonable - they are neither the cheapest or the most expensive in the market. But if you are looking for high quality workmanship, you get what you pay for with Cunningham Construction -- plus a whole lot more. They will also put in the time necessary to ensure you are 100% satisfied so if you are looking for a very quick job with the cheapest parts/labor, this team may not be the one for you as it is apparent they will not sacrifice quality or ensuring that everything is properly to code, etc. They also clean up at the end of each workday which was a huge plus. In summary, these are wonderful folks who are trustworthy, engaging, hardworking and sincere with a quality of workmanship that can't be beat -- I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent general contractor.

The team of Paul and Vicki started our project with a detailed quote and definition of work to be done. As the project progressed, underlying conditions required changing our scope to comply with local codes, which was successfully inspected with no re-work. Paul is very detailed and explained what needed to be done, and we became very confident that the work was being done in a most professional manner, with daily photos and progress updates. Each aspect of the project met our expectations and the end price was very fair. Our project consisted of new drywall, installation of windows, framing and finishing work. They paid special detail to matching new and existing paint colors. The workmanship was of the highest quality, as this work dovetailed into an existing wall, and the transition was seamless. They are very neat, protecting other sections of our home from debris, and did a great clean-up after the project was done. We will definitely use them again in our future projects.

Paul, and Vicki have worked really hard to build my deck. They have met and surpassed every inspection that Contra Costa County required of them. They use nothing but the best materials, and pride themselves on there workmanship. Vicki is very quick to have all costs of material, and labor broken down so its easy to read. I would hire them again, and would refer them to everyone.

After contacting Paul for a quote on replacing french doors with a window, we set up an appointment. Paul called me the night before the appointment to confirm the appointment. He arrived at the scheduled time the next day. He took time to ask us what we wanted as far as finish work and confirmed with us that he had understood our specifications. He provided us with a ball park timeframe as to when the estimate would be prepared, and provided the estimate to us several days before he promised. The estimate was written on a clear and concise bid sheet and broken down in clear english that my wife and I both understood. After agreeing to the bid, he arrived on time every day that he came to work. At the end of each day, he went over what he had done and what the next steps were. He was extremely clean. At the end of each work day he neatly stacked his tools out of the way and cleaned up sawdust and other debris on the ground. The one or two times he had to leave to go to the hardware store, he told us where he was going and why. Paul's strongest assets are his communication, cleanliness and his eagle eye for detail. You can't go wrong with Cunningham Construction.

They clean up after themselves each day which is very important to a lot of homeowners. They are polite, professional and return phone calls in a reasonable time. I would definitely hire them again.
