Creative Pool Solutions delivers expert repairs, diagnostics, upgrades, and consulting for residential and commercial pools throughout Charleston and the Lowcountry. Formerly Chemistry Pools (est. 2006), we specialize in smart, precision-driven service that makes your pool system work beautifully. We handle equipment repairs and upgrades including pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and automation. We provide scuba-certified leak detection, heating and cooling solutions, saltwater conversions, and energy-efficient system redesigns. Our services also include commercial pool work, safety cover installations, swim current systems like Endless Pools and Badu, remote video consultations, and backyard enhancements like custom outdoor kitchens. We are authorized dealers and service providers for Hayward, AquaCal/AutoPilot, Speck/Badu, Endless Pools and RTA Outdoor Kitchens.

How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I’ve always loved swimming. I was on swim team as a kid, and later got into restoration and repair work. The pool industry offers complex, often unique challenges to solve. It combines hands-on technical work with design, diagnostics, and creativity—all things I enjoy..

We started in this industry in 2006.

Community Involvement

We’re active at Seacoast Church, where I’ve led and joined men’s hikes and outreach events. Faith and service are central to our lives and how we stay connected to the community.

As a family, we’ve volunteered to feed the homeless and support organizations like Christ in Action and Fight Hunger. Giving back is something we believe in and prioritize together.

We support our daughter’s school through team sponsorships, events, and booster clubs—especially in volleyball and softball. Local schools and youth programs matter to us.

We proudly support the Boy Scouts of America and other programs that promote leadership and life skills in kids. We believe in helping the next generation grow with confidence.

I’m passionate about mentoring and hope to grow an apprenticeship program to teach trades, work ethic, and problem-solving to young people interested in hands-on careers.

One of my favorite activities outside of work is...

Traveling and swimming with sea turtles. That passion—along with growing up around pools and time on swim team—inspired me to get certified in scuba diving, free diving, and snorkeling. It’s why I’m so comfortable handling underwater pool repairs today.

I never give anybody a complete 5 Star rating, but Frank Fletcher came close, after making a 2nd trip to check on our old pool heater without again charging us, and he fixed the problem. He certainly has my recommendation!

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
