How We Got Started
I chose to work in this industry because My name is Dianela Rodriguez, and I am the founder of Onyx Facilities. I was raised in a Latina culture where hard work is an act of love, where caring for a space is a reflection of respect, and where home is not just a place, but a feeling. Those values shaped me long before I ever built a business. Before founding Onyx Facilities, I spent my life as a professional tennis player, competing across countries, cultures, and continents. Being far from home taught me something essential: in order to succeed, I needed an environment that supported clarity and focus. No matter where in the world I found myself, creating a sense of home—order, calm, and care—was part of my preparation and my performance. Later, I came to the United States to play Division I tennis at Hofstra University, carrying my roots, discipline, and determination with me. Sport taught me resilience, consistency, and the courage to show up every day and give my best, even when no one was watching. Those same values became the foundation of this company. I built Onyx Facilities to bring that same sense of grounding and care into the spaces where people work and live. Whether it’s a professional environment or a place you return to at the end of the day, our work is meant to help you feel focused, supported, and at ease. We are proudly powered by Latina women, whose warmth, pride, and attention to detail transform every space with intention and heart.
