The fence was installed and received good comments. But when it came to staining the fence that where it went wrong. The fence still has unstained spots and the stain is light in some spots on both sides of the fence. They left wood scraps in the ally. The company killed spots of our yard from spilled stain and one spot had a pile of stain that my dog slid in and we had to wash him several times to remove the stain. We requested that they let us know when they were going to come back, never did. They came back to try and redo the job and still did not get it finished. On top of that they got over spray on our siding, garage door and wifes car. They said they did not use a spray gun , which I have on camera of the spray gun usage. We paid to have the over spray removed from our car. We sent a copy of the check to Heather and she said she would get it to us, never happened. Informed Heather about fence planks warping in less than a month and she stated she would get them replaced. Did not happen. We have sent text messages and voice mails with NO response since letting them know that we are still waiting for the job to be finished.
Please learn from my mistake. This company was responsible before starting work, but then it all went wrong. We had made a drawing of the fence, but the crew did NOT even have it with them. They built it wrong, but would NOT change it to make it correct. One week after they finished, one entire section of wood fell on the ground, but it took them weeks to repair it. They blamed it on the wind, but there were NO screws in that section! No wonder it fell down. Less than a year later, another section fell on the ground. The reason why it fell was because there were NO screws in it either, but again they blamed it on the wind. Also, the woman you have to deal was nice until I signed the contract, but then she turned into a hateful, mean _____. I even had to pay an attorney for them to come back and fix all them mistakes they made, but they still would not return. In other words, save yourself some head aches and stay far away from this company. Run as fast as you can. I only wish I had read these reviews before I hired them. Other people have had the same experience as I did. b rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr4
Angie's Leads should be more aware of who can leave false reviews that are damaging to our character. We spend a hefty amount to utilize their service every month. This person isn't even located in the 75 mile service area of the Kansas City that we travel to work. This specific person has made multiple negative reviews and unfortunately you are allowed to have freedom of speech even when it damages someone's credibility.
They were quick, efficient, and very reasonable. All About Fencing was a great family run business to work with. They recommended the most affordable fence that fit our needs instead of trying to upsell. They were transparent, efficient, always communicated, and were easy to work with. They listened to our concern regarding our dogs getting under the fence as opposed to jumping over it, and they made sure to keep this in mind while installing the fence. It looks great and our little dogs are enjoying running freely around the yard while we can relax knowing they are safe. I would highly recommend All About Fencing to anyone looking to install a fence.
Pleased with outcome
Very good service all around. Would recommend them
Terrible workmanship, gates are failing, twisting, and difficult to open/close. Posts were not set in 2 foot of concrete, only have concrete poured above ground around posts, so fence is leaning. All About Fencing did not pull permit as they stated, so I have a fence failing and unpermitted by the city. When I asked to provide me with their insurance, they refused. This is now at the District Attorneys office for fraud investigation.
Fraudulent claims and accusations are extremely serious but are also not relevant to this. The only fraud occurring here is on your part in trying to get us to return money to you. You did request our insurance info, which we did deny. We told you we would make it out to take a look at your project, but you became extremely demanding and were incredibly rude and made it crystal clear that no one was to step foot on your property without you being there. We do set all posts in 2 feet of concrete as long as we can. Your fence line did have a lot of rock, but to say the posts were just set and covered with concrete is not an honest statement on your part in any way. From an expert opinion, your fence is leaning due to the conditions of your yard, meaning the amount of water and moisture it retains. Meaning, you have a lot of standing water. As far as a permit goes, we never said we would get a permit, only that we would get your dig rite completed. Fence contractors in your area are not required to have a business license, that would have been your responsibility. You were unhappy with a gate, and I sent someone back to rebuild it, and at that time the job was completed, and I have your emailed responses stating you were happy with the job upon completion. Had you not had paperwork from the county sent, and been as rude as you were. We likely would have still sent someone out and had them restabilize your posts. Instead, you thought attacking us would get you better results.
The worst contractor experience I have had so far. After 8 months I am finally done with them. Heather (All About Fencing contact) reached out to me and we agreed on a 250ft fence with a 10ft gate and 4 ft gate and she was going to get the building permit from the city (pretty straight forward). What she failed to tell me was that the city denied that original drawing and she redrew the fence to satisfy the city code making the fence 210ft and no longer needing a 10ft gate. She never told me the new plans, oh and it gets worse. On fence install day almost 2 months later and after a few install date changes due to many excuses, she had them build it to our original plan (not per the permit). Up until that point I thought all was good since that was our plan and I was not aware of the new drawings she provided the city. I paid the full amount and took them about a month to come back and install gate handles, after again, many date changes, but never leveled my gates which I ended up doing myself. Either way I thought we were good and done. Around that same time I get a Notice of Violation from the city stating that the fence was not built per the permit and they included a picture of what Heather and the city agreed to. This was news to me and infuriated me. After a few failed attempts of Heather not returning texts, calls and voicemails, it took my wife calling on her phone for Heather to finally pick up (on the first try) and again with a plethora of excuses. They did try to make it right by putting an appeal to the city and claim they were fighting for me but in reality they were fighting for themselves to not moved the fence (since that would cost them). After Heather failed to show up to the city zoning appeal forum and practically disappearing that evening, the city decided that the fence had to be moved in November. It took a few no shows where they said they were going to be at my house to move it, which meant me taking time away from work only for them to not show up. They finally moved it ONE day before the deadline and before I got fined by the city. I then proceeded to request a refund for extra fence that they took off (over 30 linear feet)), which All About Fencing denied. In short I paid 250ft for a vinyl fence and only have 210ft fence to show for it and all because of Heathers lack of communication and moral compass to make things right.
There is a lot of truth in this review, however, not accurate and major details are left out. This is a young growing family, and we did everything to try and help them through this situation which they also left out in this review. This homeowner was required by his HOA to show a permit had been pulled to them before he could gain HOA approval- so that was sent to him before the project was even started. Before we start every job, the homeowner comes out with the guys and walks them through where the fence is going and where they want their gates. The husband was actually traveling that day, so his wife and father-in-law showed the guys where they wanted to fence to go our crew got to work. Once they were done, the project looked great and the balance was paid. I did notice that the materials cost on the project was more than it should have been. A few weeks later, I did get by and saw that the fence went out a lot further than it was when I initially bid the project. The reason for that is because the wife and father took the fence only 3 ft from the sidewalk instead of to the driveway. I did mention that to the homeowner, but also didnt charge him anything additional. Both of those are critical here, but not mentioned in the review. We did receive a letter from their city, and he contacted us as well. He was upset with us, but we are responsible for reaching out to the city and trying to appeal for them. We had the fees and didnt charge them. We didnt have to do that- the fence is where it is because that is where our crew was told to put it on the day of installation. In the end even though 4 other fences on their street had fences just as close to the sidewalk which were helping them appeal- due to a new city ordinance it was denied. They gave them a date to have it moved by- and yes, we did get there before the deadline and we did move it. It cost our company $1600 to move that fence line for new materials and labor- which we didnt charge him for. We also didnt charge them the additional $3600.00 for the extra fence that had to go into their project because they took it closer to the sidewalk than what was on their contract. We understand and sympathize with their frustrations, which is why we bent over backwards to help them. We have absolutely nothing positive to gain by not doing right by our customers. Having a member of our teams moral compass attacked publicly isnt right here, when she was the one trying to help them and we didnt have to do to begin with. We did deny a refund because we came back and moved it at no cost to them- when cost should have been associated with moving it. At the end of the day here- the issue didnt lie with us. We just did the job and put the fence where we were told to.
Family values. Great treatment of employees.
Such a delightful experience and we look forward to future projects. Thank You.
