AGM Construction

I hired George to restore the crumbling cement and loosened stones around the corners and sides of the foundation of my triple decker in Boston. He struck me as highly intelligent, very thorough, and with a slight perfectionist streak. We did two circumambulations of the building, and reviewed the interior. He wanted to make exactly sure he understood what I wanted from him and how he thought he could best do it. I appreciated his thoroughness, both before he began the job and in his execution. His work was neat and clean and accomplished exactly what I needed. I will definitely be hiring him for my future masonry work.

Had to come back and grind down some mortar that was overlooked. Otherwise did a great job.

This is a family owned and run business with a well earned excellent reputation. We hired him for a somewhat complicated masonry job involving stone steps, a railing, walkway, and a stone wall. George was professional and helpful throughout the process. He gave us options, worked within our budget, and the results were amazing. We were so pleased with his efforts we hired him for an additional job to repair a stone wall at the back of our property, and our neighbor across the street hired him on the spot for a project at his home. We would use him again in a heartbeat.

My job which was a complete porch repair went very well...was done in reasonable time with all options explained well. I would gladly hire this crew again.

BEWARE! Please DO NOT use AGM Construction for concrete repair/refinishing. We want to spare you from our regrets. We waited a month after the work was performed, allowing time for the concrete to cure. Unfortunately, every day reveals new issues and overall product failure. There are two parts to this review, and I want to be fair regarding work that appears, for now, to be done well specifically repointing a large stone retaining wall and reinstalling stone treads on brick steps. Another thing to beware of is Georges opinion of what should be done versus your express wishes. He will do what he wants. The second part of this review covers the other work in this project, refinishing concrete walkways and steps. That work delivered disastrous results, including extensive damage to shrubbery. I have many photos clearly showing the failed and failing concrete work as well as the shrubbery damage. In addition to the cracks and holes that are now visible, just walking on the concrete and hearing crackling sounds predicts that additional areas will soon visibly fail. There is not a single area of failure it is everywhere. Despite many verbal assurances regarding quality, I can only describe AGMs concrete refinishing as incompetent. Our concrete surfaces are much worse now than before being repaired. We wish we had something positive to say, but watching AGMs repair work continue to fail and our money mainly being wasted precludes that. We hope our miserable experience will be a strong caution should you consider AGM for any concrete repair work.

George and his family crew were outstanding. They were on time and hard workers. Replaced front steps, removing old limestone caps, installed granite caps, mosaic of natural stones, and brick veneer to steps. Removed damaged concrete walkway and replaced with mosaic of natural stones lined with granite. Added new railings to bottom steps. Replaced limestone caps on retaining wall with granite caps and re-stuccoed wall. Repaired chimney. We have a beautiful front entry now that is safer and up to code and has received many positive comments. Would definitely hire again.

George and his workers, who are family members, were conscientious, polite and friendly. They completed the work, which included chimney repointing and installing a new set of steps for the back of our home, in a timely manner, arriving when they said they would, working solely on our project until it was complete, and cleaning the area before leaving. We are very happy with their work and their work ethic!

George and team did an excellent job in replacing our brick stairs and walkway. The design, materials, and attention to detail were exceptional. There were no delays in starting or completing the project. I highly recommend AGM Construction.
