Great service
Kevin was a true professional. Swiftly installed the garage opener and expertly managed some obstacles to get the job done. Highly recommend A1.
Experienced, kind and customer oriented. Very satisfied so far
They are very honest. Gave me a quote without seeing and they fixed it first try.
Arrived in a timely manner, friendly and efficient technician. Had a reasonable price. UPDATE 1-8-2020, I am having issues with the garage door not closing it keeps coming back up. I contacted them and they want to charge a minimum $80.00 to repair what they installed.
I hired A1 Garage Door Service to repair a broken torsion spring. The first technician, who was very friendly and walked me through everything, replaced the spring and did a review of my garage door and recommended replacing several parts that were failing but not critical. This technician got the door operational again which is the reason for 2 stars for quality of work instead of 0 stars. The same day the first technician left the garage door started acting up and making a loud groaning sound. This sound was not present prior to the torsion spring breaking and only presented itself after the door was operational again. I called A1 and they told me a technician would be out the next day to address the noise. The day the second technician was supposed to arrive I received a phone call saying they would have to reschedule (which isnt a big deal since the door was operational at this point). I appreciated this call instead of just not showing up. The second technician came out two days after the first technician. I was told the second technician would be free of charge since it would be covered under the 30-day labor warranty. The second technician was extremely rude when I declined replacing parts that they had marked up roughly 20x. He told me that all of my garage door parts were critical; and that the first technician got it wrong. This was surprising to me since the second technician basically threw his coworker under the bus. The second technicians quotes were included: $99 to replace a bearing and told me I would need to replace two of them, $99 to replace the cable drums, $99 to replace the cables, $99 to replace the track wheels, and $140, plus labor, to add a support strut, for a grand total of $635 for just parts. I got all of the parts, plus some additional ones, off of amazon for $48 total. At one point the second technician told me I needed to replace my entire garage door, which is only 8 years old, and got mad when I declined that service. Now Im all for allowing service professionals to do their job, but when they mark up a $5 bearing to $99, $8 cables to $99, $10 cable drums to $99, etc., and then get mad when I decline to pay those ridiculous price, thats when I have a problem. After I declined several part replacements, the second technician told me the visit would not be covered under the labor warranty and that I would have to pay an $80 service call fee. I paid the fee and as soon as the technician left called the manager, Bruce. Bruce was very friendly and spoke to me for a lot longer than most people in his position would. Bruce refunded $60 of the $80 service fee. Bruce is the only reason this company gets 4 stars for customer service. However, even after two visits the garage door was still making a groaning sound. After spending roughly 5 minutes on youtube I discovered that the garage door was out of alignment and, as a result, two of the panels were rubbing against each other, which was causing the groaning sound. This should have been addressed and corrected by at least one of the technicians. However, the second technicians approach to correcting the sound was to move one of the rails out to create additional space, and then to beat on the side of the garage door to try and move it over. Neither of which worked and only created additional problems. Overall, Im very disappointed that I hired this company to fix my garage door. Im out $200 ($180 for torsion spring replacement and $20 on the second technician) and several hours of my own time diagnosing and repairing something that should have been fixed by A1 Garage. Im just glad that I had priced parts prior to hiring them. Otherwise I would have had no idea that they were marking up their products so much. My advice is buy the parts you need and if you are not comfortable installing them yourself find a company that ...
Great customer service! Great technician! Finished job promptly!
