demo crew left concrete and garbage bags full of plaster on my property and did not clean up and take away debris. I called Grant he apologized and said he would have them pick up the trash since it would be a week before plaster crew would start, this never happened no big deal but a poor way to start a job. Plaster crew seemed to do a good job and cleaned up after resurfacing was complete. Days later found they had dug up pavers behind our shed to burry chunks of leftover concrete they didn't want to haul off. In this process they also damaged one of the filter pipes they bumped and days later it split and burst and had to be totally re-pipped. To this day I am still finding chunks of plaster buried around my property in the front yard back yard etc. Initially the pool was filled and looked great, tech came out to add chemicals to the pool and a week later I noticed white staining, I followed the instructions to the letter of keeping ph @7.2 (checked daily) and brushing weekly for two weeks, the pool ran 24-7 for the first week as instructed, then 8 hrs per day. Called Grant yet again, he told me this was normal chalking and would go away. 30 days later I noticed cracking looking lines in the pool surface, again called Grant and was told this was also normal during curing and would go away in a few months. I also did as instructed and had a complete water test done, and forwarded results to Grant, no response. once the cold season set in and we were not using the pool I tried contacting Grant and Jim several times and got no response. Finally, months later they came out to have a look, took a water sample and haven't heard or seen them since, finally got a hold of Grant who told me he would have his guy call me, never happened and he now is insinuating that its prob metal staining and it my fault, so I have a pool with white spot staining and streaks on the bottom as well as spider cracking on the entire surface, I am no idiot and it seem like This is caused by improper plastering practices where the plaster is improperly mixed and weak, porous areas will develop. These small spots are prone to shrinkage, micro-cracking and discoloration that are the clear and unmistakable. As I read some other reviews, and this looks to be a problem for 3 Anchor Bay Pools and they do not want to stand behind their work and written warranty. I have documented texts phots sent and phone calls with Grant to verify my dissatisfaction. None of the problems Grant said would go away, ever did. I am not confident that 3 Anchor Bay Pools will correct this at this point. I would like some sort of compensation to have it repaired by a reputable company.

    Response from Company:

This homeowner did not follow our written instruction letter that he was given. It is titled " Post surfacing care of your pool ". If he had swept the pool once a week for the first month there would have been no white chalking. The notion that bits of concrete were mysteriously buried all over his property or we had dug up brick pavers is preposterous and simply not true.. I do remember this homeowner telling me that all he did at the time to maintain his pool was throw some chlorine in it. After the pool was resurfaced it was not swept and on top of that I remember him telling me he drains the pool in winter because it is not used. The surface that was applied is designed to be submerged and no t exposed to the air. Once it is , it will check crack as it is dried out. This is the ONLY thing that can cause check cracking. We also remove our debris from the job sites as it is dangerous to leave plastic bags with acid covered concrete for kids to find and open.. I would recommend getting a pool service to maintain his pool year round that is qualified to do the specialized job. At least long enough to teach him how to do it correctly..

We hired this "Pro" to get our pool and deck done before our family arrived for our wedding, and were assured multiple times it could be done in time. So we signed on Mar 8, and the wedding was on Apr 20. Well, nothing was done in time and we had to rent a venue for our guests. First we were told that the tiles weren't even ordered until the pool was drained, which sounds like a complete waste of time. Then were told it was due to "weather" which we haven't had rain in our area the entire duration. Eventually the job got completed (late), and we are very unhappy with the placement of the tiles on the steps, and there are stain splashes on the new deck. We were told that 'we' must have splashed chemicals. The only person that poured chemicals on that side of the pool was the guy they sent to start the pool up. We diligently pour our chemicals directly into the skimmer (where there are NO stains). BASICALLY: Closely monitor the work being done and don't expect timelines to be met.

    Response from Company:

Neither this customer or his partner were ever promised that their project would be completed in time for any wedding reception. In fact when I told them that the chances were dependent entirely on weather conditions they chose to do the pool anyway..Then halfway through the project they decided to add painting the deck to the contract, taking more than a week to finally decide they wanted it done in two colors. One for the porch and one for the pool deck. When he texted me a photo of a small chemical burn on the newly painted deck I called him immediately to let him know that I had seen this many times before and asked if we had left them any left-over paint for touching up small accidents that will always happen sooner or later. When he said we had not left any paint I told him that the paint color code was on his contract and invoice and he could get a sample color can from Sherwin Williams. He was upset that he would have to pay for it. ( a couple of bucks at most ) and before I could let him know that they would probably give me a can for free and I would look into that he hung up on me and blocked my return call. He had told me early in the conversation that the deck was initially perfect after we had completed the job. We also photograph our completed work..

Grant and his crew did a great job resurfacing my pool, and fixing my pool deck. They lifted the deck up and made it even with the rest of the deck. And we paved the top and painted. I love the new tiles in my pool. I would recommend them.

RUN -- in Dec 21 we hired 3 Anchor Bay to resurface our pool, install a new heater, replace our pool lights, and fix the in-floor cleaning system (which they did NOT. I ended up needing to hire/pay someone else to actually get it fixed). The owner Grant talked us into getting a special deep blue surface that we paid an additional $5-6k for but when it was installed there were streaks and blotches. At the time of installation, Grant saw the streaks and blotches and said they would go away as they cured as long as we brush the surface. Grant came himself and brushed the pool once (others from 3 Anchor also came and brushed ) as did I. Every single day for months. We have a pool service and I tested the pool myself every day or so and the PH was never above 7.2. Grant said on several occasions that I needed to wait at least 3 months for the surfaces to finish curing and that if they were still there after 3 months THEN and ONLY then will he address it.. The streaks NEVER changed. I have reached out to Grant several times. I was able to get him to call me back by calling from a phone number he did not recognize so he actually spoke to me. Well really more yelled and called a liar before he hung up on me. He will not answer again now. He is yelled at me several times, which is really weird considering I paid him. We have contacted other pool companies and they say it should NOT look like that and that it was NOT installed properly. Despite what other pool professionals tell him he denies anything is his responsibility. THIS HAS BEEN A ISSUE SINCE THE DAY IT WAS INSTALLED.

    Response from Company:

We were contracted to replace one missing in-floor return on the top step. Once it was in place and the pool was filled it became obvious that all the heads were bad. There was also an actuator that was disinterred grated and not working. We found the only specialist in the area that deals with the specific brand and recommended him to the Home-owner, suggesting that he hire the guy directly to save money. The entire system was fixed. The Homeowner picked the dark blue color even though it was much more expensive, and it was the only color they wanted. I had initially suggested a much lighter color. The first service person he hired neglected the pool and when he called us complaining of streaking I told him that the only thing that caused that was high P/H. After testing the water we found the P/H to be above 8. In the " Post Surfacing letter that this customer was given it clearly says that the P/H cannot go above 7.2 or " Scaling " will occur. streaking. The water also had no sequestrant in it which prevents staining. We told the homeowner to get rid of the pool guy and recommended a very competent one who he subsequently hired. When I first swept the pool immediately after it surfaced there was no streaking at all. If there was he would never have paid us. He did ask me about the slit at the top of the light.. implying that we had installed a broken one. When I explained that the slit was there to allow the pool water to circulate behind the light to keep it cool so it didn't explode he kept saying " I don't think so ". He at his own admission had no knowledge of pools at all but felt the need to disagree. Every Pro in every industry has encountered this behavior more than once. He called me a few days ago saying that I had yelled at him and used the "F" word a few months earlier. When I explained to him that I knew he was confusing me with another pool guy because I never use foul language with my customers ( a lot of them record their calls ) he became agitated and started cussing at me. Unfortunately, I have encountered this type of customer before in my 32 years in the biz but thankfully not that often.

I just had my pool resurfaced with this company. Grant was extremely professional, honest and assisted us through the entire process. We had to wait about 3 weeks to be scheduled but it was worth the wait! The entire job was completed in 2 days! Highly recommend this company for your pool and patio decking improvements. .

We hired 3 Anchor Bay to resurface our pool. They were also able to help us fix several cracks in our concrete around the pool and filled in two planters for us. The company delivered what it promised. Our pool and deck look much better.
