"We hired Gregory Gardner, owner of Elephant Builders, to do an extensive remodel. The job consisted of converting an inadequately enclosed back porch into a fully enclosed laundry/utility area and a full kitchen remodel. For the back porch, extensive structural shoring up needed to be donea new foundation and revamping of roof supports. He leveled the floor (it's flat, no bounce!) constructed new insulated walls, added new windows, and built a shower room with sliding door and tiled-in shower stall. Gregory was mindful of the style of the house and did his best to make the new trim on the back porch/laundry area match that of the rest of the house. In the kitchen he replaced the damaged ceiling, put down sub flooring, repaired walls, tiled back splashes, and tiled a niche for an antique cook stove. New appliances, cabinets, light fixtures, counter tops, and flooring were installed. Wall repair was done, flooring, tiled back splashes, a sink, cabinets, countertops, and appliances were also installed in a "butler's pantry." Gregory is skilled at many aspects of the remodeling process. He did much of the work himself and has established good relationships with a designer, engineering services, a cabinetmaker, and various trades people necessary to complete the job. All work was done in compliance with code. As the house was built in 1911, there were lead paint and asbestos issues which were dealt with properly. Gregory is a conscientious and considerate person and an amazingly hard worker. If you appreciate a hands-on approach, especially regarding the structural aspects of a job, Elephant Builders is a company you should consider. He was a pleasure to work with."

"Jeremiah did a beautiful job doing the base along all the walls for our newly installed wood floors..he also stained them before installing. The work included trim around 7 doors , and rehanging 4 closet doors which needed clever readjusting to a new height. He also spliced in flooring where the installer had left gaps. Jeremiah remodeled the red oak buffet using white oak skins and new shaker doors. He was a perfectionist filling in all nail holes and seams with matching putty. The rooms he did now look truly, expertly finished."
