"David and his crew did a full bathroom renovation, painted every surface of the home, including cabinets, changed plumbing fixtures, door hardware, and all light fixtures, in addition to other electrical work for my mother-in-law s home. He sent over an itemized estimate and stayed on budget, no surprises, and delivered within 6 weeks timeline as promised. This was the best experience I ve had with a contractor yet. His workers were courteous and detailed and delivered a great end product. We are looking to hire him for some work at our home."

Additions & Remodels
"From start to finish, Dorin did an excellent job. Soon after assessing the work needed and what I wanted, Dorin drew up a design with the cost for the kitchen remodel project. He took into consideration my budget and that I wished to keep the basic kitchen structure. He also quickly updated kitchen design when I told him of changes I wanted. He always kept me in the loop as work progressed, explaining what or why specific work was needed. Iâ m impressed that that heâ s a very experienced remodeling contractor and very skillful in all aspects: installing cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, electrical and plumbing. He completed the work within his stated timeline. Iâ m beyond happy with the beautiful and functional new kitchen. I highly recommend Dorin for kitchen remodeling work other homeowners might be considering. Iâ ve had several relatives and friends make very favorable complements on my new kitchen."

"Not only did Galen act as the general contractor on this job, he also was a design consultant, making several suggestions for improvements. The job was done in a professional manner and was completed in a shorter time frame than was estimated. If I have another job to be done, Galen will definitely be the one I call."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
