"I'm an licensed architect in MA. I worked with BQC on my own house addition including foundation, framing, envelope, plumbing, electrical work and HVAC, basically the full scope. Jeff and Ana are patient and easy to communicate with. I recommend BQC for similar work."

"The complete remodel of my two bathrooms, including one that had to be totally gutted. The work was beautiful. Everyone was punctual and very respectful of my home. Everyday they cleaned up so that I was never inconvenienced by the work being done. I highly recommend Like My House for any bathroom remodel."

"Costs increased about 10% over estimate, work was well done and the final product was professional and well-built. Communication could have been better, the builder promised weekly meetings but that didn't happen. All in all, we were happy at the end of it all, and all questions were answered and all finishes to our satisfaction, which if you've ever worked with a contractor before, you know isn't a given. 5/5 would work with them again, the fireplace mantel and threshhold was particularly well done."

"CRJ completed an extensive renovation of my single family in Somerville and did a very thorough and well done job. Carlos is a great communicator and coordinated several subcontractors for the project. As expected with such a large endeavor, there were some kinks along the way, but Carlos handled them well, in a timely fashion, and ensured even the small details were taken care of. They aren't necessarily the fastest team around and could be a little more upfront about when there are additional costs outside the agreed upon contract, but there is real care in their work, their pricing is generally fair, and they are a pleasure to work with."

You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
