"Trustworthy and experienced contractor who is flexible and responsive. Work performed was of high quality and he works to fix any issues that arise. Also willing to provide expert advice. In my case, he allowed me to perform several parts of the project to help control costs."

"Tyler worked with our existing interior door frames and installed new 3 panel doors. Our home is old and things have settled but he was able to get all the new doors to open and close with little or no pressure applied. The doors also stay open when opened and stay closed when closed, he is skilled and it shows in the work he does. Tyler was great to work with he came did measurements listened to what we wanted, gave us some suggestions and then got everything ordered. He was able to work with our schedule and even came back and put in some door stops and coat hooks on the new doors. We appreciated his professional clean up that he often did during and after the install. I would 100% hire him again."

"I had a fairly large deck of cedar (469 sq ft approx) and it was dangerously falling apart. I wanted a carefree maintenance deck and spent way too much time keeping the wood one looking nice & safe. The new railings and overall look has made my home take on a just built look. Wood railings and spindles made it seem so boxed in and dark. I was amazed on the precision & calculated moves from the worker. Local pride was sure evident."

"Tom has done several projects for us. All of them have turned out great. Today was a tough one. The solid wood entry door from our patio would not open and if you got it open it wouldn't shut. He got it working quickly. If you are in need of a handyman, Tom is your guy!"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
